I cant find were the power steering going on a 1999 porsche boxster

The power steering fluid reservoir is located near the top center in the engine compartment (see this thread for a picture: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/41098-where-to-top-up-power-steering-fluid/). Your owners manual will show you how to gain access to the engine compartment.

When i fill my power steering my car smokes realy bad and i get power steer fluid in my intake if i dont fill it my car is fine

Hi Junior, I don't know what it is to me, do you? If there are no leaks why do you fill it? If the level goes down it must be leaking somewhere, so my suggestion is to inspect the unit and find out where. The steering fluid reservoir is separate from the engine, so I'm wondering where you're filling? Regards John

Where do I put the power steering fluid on a space wagon

If your in doubt I suggest you go to an autozone or some other auto parts place and have them show you where everything goes.....If your oil light is on, thats not a good thing.....same as your battery.....That means your alternator is not charging power back to your battery.....Go as soon as you can

I had the power steering pump replaced and they did not replace the hose that the fluid runs thru, and i dont know where it goes

There are two lines. One is a high pressure and one is a return line. They both run from the pump to the steering box.

Steering on my 2005 malibu goes out all of a suden. Late it happens every few blocks. Is it the steering motor or a sensor. I live in Mexico so I dont have a good mecanic but i can find the part if I know...

It wouldn't be a sensor. Your power steering pump is at fault. It could be a loose belt or low on power steering fluid. If the fluid is low, then the pump is definately the problem and make sure to use proper AC/Delco fluid to replace the old fluid with. Worst case is that your power steering pump is bad and will need to be replaced.

Changeing a power steering pump

CHANGING POWER STEERING PUMP YOU HAVE TO PLACE A DRAIN PAN UNDER THE VECHICLE. SIPHON OUT POWER STEERING FLUID WITH A SIPHONER DONT USE YOUR MOUTH TO SIPHON SWALLOWING POWER STEERING FLUID CAN BE FATAL MAKE YOU SICK.WHEN ALL POWER STEERING FLUID IS REMOVED FROM POWER STEERING PUMP.REMOVE DRIVE BELT.THEN REMOVE THE POWER STEERING PUMP.THEN YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY THE NEW POWER STEERING PUMP DONT HAVE A PULLEY YOU HAVE TO HAVE REMOVE PULLEY FROM THE OLD POWER STEERING PUMP.YOU NEED A PUMP PULLEY REMOVER AND A PULLEY INSTALLER.YOU CAN TAKE OLD POWER STEERING PUMP AND NEW POWER STEERING PUMP TO A MACHINE SHOP.THEY WILL REMOVE PULLEY OFF OLD PUMP PRESS IT ON NEW POWER STEERING PUMP.THAT WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN BUYING THE PULLER AND INSTALLER.GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE BUY NEW HIGH PRESSURE LINE O RING GOES TO PRESSURE LINE GOING INTO POWER STEERING PUMP.ONCE YOU GET NEW PUMP READY PULLEY BEEN PRESSED ON.TAKE POWER STEERING PUMP HOME PUT IT ON. BLEED POWER STEERING SYSTEM.WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU GET NEW PUMP INSTALLED HIGH PRESSURE LINE IN PLACE.PUMP BOLTED IN DRIVE BELT ON POUR POWER STEERING FLUID IN POWER STEERING PUMP UNTIL FLUID LEVEL STOP DROPPING AND YOUR LEVEL ON POWER STEERING DIP STICK AT COLD LEVEL.NOW START CAR UP LET IT IDLE FOR 3 MINUTES.THEN TURN OFF ENGINE CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID IF FLUID LEVEL DROP ADD LITTLE MORE UNTIL LEVEL ON DIP STICK ON COLD MARK DONT OVER FILL.NOW SAFELY RAISE SUPPORT FRONT OF VECHICLE. START THE ENGINE.TURN STEERING WHEEL FROM ALL THE WAY FROM LEFT TO RIGHT DONT STOP LOCK WHEEL .GO LEFT TO RIGHT SEVERAL TIMES.THEN TURN OFF ENGINE CHECK FLUID LEVEL.IF ALL IS GOOD LET VECHICLE BACK DOWN LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE CHECK FLUID AGAIN.DONT DRIVE VECHICLE IF POWER STEERING PUMP MAKE NOISES OR YOUR STEERING FEEL STIFF HARD TO TURN.JUST MAKE SURE FLUID LEVEL RIGHT AND DRIVE BELT TIGHT GOOD LUCK.

My Power Steering fluid is low, I want to add power steering fluid. I can't find the cap to add fluid in my 2006 Chevy Malibu LTZ.

how do you know its low then? it's there in the engine compartment, its usually set in a small black plastic box towards the front off most engines because its run by the serpentine belt, so follow the belt on your car it rolls right over the power steering unit. it"ll have a circular knob with small half moon cuts on the outside to make it easier to grip, and right on the top, in yellow writing, it'll say power steering fluid only! Hydraulic fluid or transmission fluid, dont put brake fluid in there..always in a pinch you can pour transmission fluid in. Now if its leaking i highly recommend "Lucas" stop leak power steering fluid, but only to top it off dont poor in the whole bottle at once because this stuff works too good! and could lock up your steering. Everytime its low just top it off again.
can you rate my answer.thank you.

Power steering dont work to left or right

To find out witch it is,pump or rack and pinion, break loose the presure line on the power steering pump with a wench.Start the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth, you may need to loosen the nut on the power steering hose two or three turns to get the fluid to shoot out.It should come out pretty forceful. If it doesn`t,then replace the pump.If it does come out really powerful, replace the rack and pinion.
