The compressor is mounted in parallel with the engine's crankshaft, the serpentine belt which is at the end of the engine spins the compressor, alternator, power steering pump, and who knows what else. Compressor is a large barrel shaped contraption 8-10 inches long and 6 inches in diameter with the belt at one end and two hoses as big around as a man's thumb attached to it. Generally it will be on the front of the engine, near the radiator assuming the engine sits sideways, black or dark gray in color.
Go to the autozone or advance website search for a compressor, then go look under your hood and find the thing which looks like the thing in the picture.
