Assuming that you've checked the coolant level and eliminated the possibility of a leak, your likely cause is a defective radiator cap that is not letting coolant flow normally between the radiator and engine block. Turning on the heater gives the coolant a cooling surface, bringing your temp down. Other possibilities are a failing thermostat or water pump, and a clogged radiator or engine block. A mechanic can check all of this for you, but a new radiator cap is a likely and inexpensive fix.

2008 ford focus checked with gauge it has enough Freon but when the compressor kicks on it runs a few second then kickes off. Only blows out air the same temp as outside. This car only has 65000miles on it...

You need a repair shop with a/c knowledge to work on it

When you try & add to a leaking system & I fail to see
why people do,you let air in & over charge it

Speedo, tacho, fuel gauge, temp gauge stopped working on 2004 focus all fuses working

Maybe, a wire came lose. Did you hit anything? Spill any water inside? Could be a short, considering they all went out. Did they all go out at once?

Electrical failure of instruments (temp & fuel gauges, speedometer & rev counter) on 52reg ford focus. All fuses intact. What's the problem?

Check the temp sensor wire that goes to the engine. They will short out to engine and make the dash do strange things.

Just changed thermostat on 2003 1.6 petrol engine focus. When i start car the temp gauge goes straight into the red then fans kick in and drops to normal any idea why?

some air trap inside the radiator and engine look 4 the bleeder nipple..or look the most upper hose the remove fill water until the water flow is solid..

2003 ford focus rpm runs high when clutch is engaged

since this is a standard and you need to engage the clutch which basically shifts you into neutral to shift gears, this ALMOST sounds like the idle air control valve.

2001 ford focus

the cooling fan will always come on when using the a/c,so it is not a fan problem, sounds like the pcm is not getting a signal to turn cooling fan on,could be coolant temp sensor.
