Car got jumped and now wont start

If the vehicle was dead and then required the jump, make sure it runs for about 15 minutes. This ensures the alternator has ample time to recharge the battery. If after this time frame the vehicle won't start again, then either the battery isn't holding a charge, or the alternator isn't charging the battery like it's suppose to. More than likely it's the battery that is the issue. Make sure the connections to the battery are cleaned before making this diagnosis.

Car wont start need help no power when when try to start

Will it start with a jump from another car or booster? You may just have a dead battery, or a bad alternator that isn't charging your battery. Usually it is one of the two. The battery doesn't hold a charge so it is junk. or the alternator/generator is bad and not charging the battery. Easy way to check alternator is, If the car will start with a jump? while it is running pull positive terminal off battery. If the car stays running it is the most likely the battery is not keeping a charge. On the other hand; if the car stops running when you pull the terminal off the alternator isn't providing enough electricity to charge the battery or run the car.

There is also the possibility nothing is wrong and you left the interior lights on all night.

2003 protege5 wont start unless jumped and dies after about 30 seconds.

Need to check battery condition first. Is it the original battery? If yes chances are it needs to be replaced. May have a dead cell or 2 & will not hold a charge. When it ran before this, was the check battery/charging light on? Also verify charging system is working correctly.

1 have a 1986 caddilac deville i have to jump start it everyday it runs fine after the jump start but soon as i cut the car off it wont start anymore until i jump it again what do you think is the problem

Have you checked your battery???
A bad battery will not hold a charge. When you jump it to start it it will then keep running on the power produced by your alternator. The alternator will be trying to charge your battery but will not be able to if your battery is bad.

My honda civic wont start at first i thought it was the alternator so i went and picked one up from pick yah part and got it changed and the new alternator is charging my battery but when i try to start...

the problem is either in the batterie or alternator. junkyard alternators are a 50/50 chance of working. you should go to your local parts store and have them do a batterie/ alternator test. they dont require you to take them out the car.

Wont turn over but when i jump it it starts then

bad cell in the battery won't hold the charge, also check alternator, once the engine is running the alternator should keep it running even with a bad battery, chances are the fouled alternator caused your battery to fail also

My battery wont hold a charge even when jumped.

The battery may have been bad. They replaced it, and probably neglected to test the alternator. You now need to have both tested.

Wont start

check for battery voltage at the charge post on the alternator and at the 2 wire connect with the key on .if you have it then its a bad alternator. if you have a belt spinning the alternator.
