Check if the has any oil smear, the check on compression, oil rings failure, faulty valves.
Check for fuel, fuel supply, can be confirmed on inspection of the plugs.
finally check the firing of all plugs in order, check the spark intensity.
Hope this helps

01 dodge stratus r/t, 3.0, replaced lifters, plugs, wires, distributor cap, and all timing components. Car runs but throws a multiple misfire code and the engine rpm fluctuates up and down at idle

multiple misfire codes can be from injectors and fuel pressure problems
check for harness connections and problem fuel pressure regulator
check that the wires to the regulator or vacuum hose is properly connected

No top end. throws misfire codes 300 through 308 randomly.wires cap rotor, fuelpump, air filter replaced.breaks up at top end. got somewhat better when I changed the wires and cap

misfires can also be from injector/s and low fuel pressure
maybe changing the pump was the improvement but the problem may be in a faulty [pressure regulator

01 gmc jimmy was throwing a code for ckp sensor so i replaced it and its still showing same code plus a misfire

Could be a problem with the crank gear that the sensor reads.
You may want to do some research on the code you have.

The most common misfire causes on the cars I've worked on have been:
  1. Spark plugs
  2. Spark plug wires
  3. Ignition coil
  4. Fuel injector
  5. Wiring to fuel injector
  6. Timing Belt
  7. Vacuum leak or stuck open EGR
  8. Contaminated fuel or bad fuel pump
  9. Weak compression
  10. Blown head gasket

Engine Diagnostic code P1399 for a 1998 Honda Cr-V. I'm trying to figure out exactly what i need to do to make this go away?

It could possibly be one of the four ignition wires, or the engine is misfiring. A cheap method of finding out would be to try to swap or replace the plug wires. If that doesnt solve it I recommend taking it in to a mechanic to find out what is causing your misfire.

2001 S-10 with 4.3 misfire

Check for vacum leaks make sure hoses arn't cracked and are routed correctly. check for leaks at throtle body, intake manifold, egr valve and pcv system. also check to make sure pcm is grounded correctly. Check injecter harness connectors aswell.... Hope this helps if all this looks good... you may have to take it to a shop where they can make sure the injecters are firing and compresion is correct.

Good luck :)

2001 Cougar getting a P0301 & P0303 error...could this be a leaky intake manifold? Already replaced the plugs & wires. It has 114,000 miles

those codes are for a misfire if you've already replaced the plugs and wires and it still throws the same codes check the coil for those 2 cylinders and make sure it's firing if it is check to make sure the fuel injectors are firing on those 2 cylinders a leaking intake wouldn't cause the misfire codes it would throw like a po171 and or a po174 normally
