Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: 88 dodge ram 50 4x4 manul trans. 2.6 mitshibishi.

the loss of power I was experiencing was because the secondary was not working. The vacuum was not strong enough to open the secondary.
I found a stronger vacuum and hooked it up there. Still need to fine tune the adjustments on the Carb. Have twice the power I had but still need adjusting.

hi.
either the adjusters have siezed up, or the catch on the ratchet is not fuctioning properly.
for the adjustment to be this far out, i would suspect the catch on the ratchet. this is quite common on older vehicles.
the whole adjuster mechanism need to be stripped down, cleaned, freed up, and checked to ensure it is all working. if the catch is a flexible metal strip, it may be possible to gently bend it back into place (the official guide is to replace it) if the catch is held by a spring, then the spring should be replaced.

if you have any doubts about checking this system yourself, then i must recommend that you get a qualified mechanic to check it for you.
this system should not be modified or manually adjusted in any way. just cleaned, lubricated and any worn parts replaced.

hope this helps

1995 Mitsubishi L300 Van 2ltr aspirated motor, Automatic choke revs extremely high on cold start, will not decelerate till engine is hot. How can I remedy this?

If it's carburetor & has automatic choke, then there is probably a screw at side of carb, by step cam that moves with choke . Back it of a little at a time until you get desired cold idle speed. Make sure you turn step cam to setting it would normally be when cold, and choke on, then turn screw out to lower rpm's. Look for a little rod from choke shaft, down to base or side of carb area, to step cam.

Engine stalling in park and drive.

Just a shot in the dark here. Mikuni carbs were problamatic on that engine. I remember them well. They had internal vacuum leaks and diapragm leaks just like you describe. I dont kn ow if you can get it any more but the fix used to be a new reman carb. they were not rebuildable. But I always wondered why you coul not have a base plate adapter made by a machine shop to adapt any other simpler carb to it? as long as your cfm rating was the same--ya know? Like take a holley 2 barrel off a k-car and adapt it on. Anyway I hope I helped. But that is what it sounds like. Carb replacement. Thanks

If yours is a Mikuni carb, here's what I did to make my choke work manually on a 1986 Plymouth Voyager:
