I just had to have a universal joint replaced on my 05 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4, it only had 48k mi. if you search the internet you will see it is very common. I just bought it used from a dealer so I took it back thinking it was a rear brake problem as well. As soon as I explained the issue to the head mechainc he told me it was the universal joint before even looking at the truck.

If there is still a problem with your brakes take it back to the shop and they should look at it free. They should probably fix it too.

1999 silverado rear end shakes at all speeds. put brand new tires n balanced

You should have an alignment on all 4 wheels. Check that the rear axle has not shifted forward or backward on one side. If you have Rear Disc Brakes, have the Hub & Rotor checked for alignment. Does this shaking happen all of the time or just when turning? Does it only happen when you apply the brakes? A Rotor and Hub that is out of alignment will cause shaking. Also check that the Caliper Slide Bolts are lubricated, otherwise the caliper will not operate correctly and the inside of the rotor will wear out faster. This can cause shaking also.

When slowing to a stop the truck shakes. It feels like you are going over a "washboard" road. I have just installed new tires, had lined up, balanced, new wheel seals and have check everything...

More than likely it is warped brake rotors. You may feel a pulsation in the brake pedal, or the steering wheel may shake a bit.
I would suspect the fronts would be more noticeable. You may also see rust build up or a rough surface on the rotors.
Front brakes are easy to replace, I would put new pads and rotors on the front first.

Make sure backing plates behind front & rear rotors aren't rubbing on rotors. Jack up each wheel individualy & spin. May also be emergency brake shoes rubbing inside drum inside rear rotors.

Have someone push & release pedal while at wheel with problem. See if it takes a while or slow to release. If yes, have wrench ready on bleeder screw, and try again, if it sticks/holds, crack bleeder screw, if it releases, I'd replace hose.
