Question about 2006 Dodge Charger

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger 3.5L the car started running rough and the check engine light came on. I checked the code with the key on 3 times method and got a code 0406. EGR Position Sensor Circuit High. I replaced the EGR Valve. I used the EGR tube off my old one and attached it to the new one, but it came up short and wouldn't line up with the opening on the back of the intake. it was short a 1/2 inch. I went back to the part store where i purchased the EGR Valve and they told me this item is unavailable to order. I went to the dealer and told them the situation and they said we could find one...but chances are you will end up with the same one you have now...I'm not sure what to do! :-(

In order to fix yours problem with EGR system, you must remove and clean inside the EGR valve. Refit all in reverse order. Therefore you can erase ECM memory from faults. After these operations you can run on higway for few miles for engine warm up and exhaust system cleaning!

98 dodge ram 1500 5.9L 2wd. Truck runs really rough, stalls, then won't start. No check engine light now. Had misfire codes, did tune up, now it still stalls and no check engine light.

What is the O2 sensor reading? If it runs rough check the engine compression, run an injector flow test and clean and replace as necessary. Check the EGR for leakage. Drive it and see if the misfire codes return, I think they will.

Engine light on dodge3.8 engine runs rough and idles slow 2001 dodge van

If you want to do it by yourself, I strongly recommend you to buy a manual book because there is a built-in self dianostic Check Engine light codes. And how to do it, just insert the key into the ignition and do it three times, Turn On and Off the switch but don't start the engine, and you will see the check engine blinking. Count the blink and start with 1-2 blinks, the next blink is to tells you where is the problem and it will end to 5-5 blinks.(BLINK is the CODE) and you could check in the book. If you know somebody has an OBDII Scan/Diag.,thats will be easy. ok

My charger wont start engine light came on also the electric control throttle

Does the engine crank over when you turn the key? If not, the battery may have gone bad. Check your connections. The battery is in the trunk. Have the check engine light diagnoised.
