Yes if they're replacing with a factory fuel pump a gm pump is the only way to go. make sure a fuel filter is figured in with that price.

A reasonable price for the pump is $270.00. Labor should be around $50.00. The pump is very easy to get to.

2005 Chevrolet Colorado blowing fuel pump relays

If a relay melts you stop using the truck before you
burn out something else

I don't think AAMCO is the best place to go for that

Obviously you have too much current going through
the relay

I would suspect a failed fuel pump

You don't need to check pressure

You need to check for current along different
parts of the fuel system electrical system

I doubt that AMMCO subscribes to a data base
other than those for just the trans business,so they
wouldn't even have any wiring diagrams or experience
with an oscilloscope or even have one

I think a repair shop or dealer is a better choice

Cost of replacing fuel pump

Since this vehicle, (1994 Plymouth Voyager), is fuel injected, the fule pump assembly is located within the fuel tank. Replacement cost will vary, depending on your ability to lower the fuel tank and replace the part yourself. The fuel pump assembly ranges in price, from $95, to $140, depending on where you purchase it. The particular parts suppliers I use on a regular basis have listings for the fuel pump assembly, so finding a replacement part won't be hard at all. Though I haven't replaced a fuel pump in this exact vehicle, typically chrysler/plymouth/dodge, vehicles don't require any special tools to disconnect fuel lines, electrical connecters, and remove assembly from tank. Note: if you do this yourself, do NOT, cross-thread the pump locking ring, if it is a screw on type, as this WILL result in fuel leakage! If you have to have a repair facility do this work, I would estimate about 200 dollars in labor charges, (that's what I'd charge a customer in my shop) So, you should be looking at no more than $350, to $400 max with part and labor.

Diesle engine quits after starting. 6.5 turbo chev

If your filter hasn't been changed recently then by all means do itand see if that helps. I change mine twice a year, spring and fall. You are probably right about the fuel pump but your best bet would be to pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, part #10330 first. It has an excellent diagnostic and repair section as well as testing procedures and repairs for these engines. It costs about $20 and could save you some money. Hope this helps.
