Question about 1998 Ford Escort
There is a safety device in the fuel line designed to shut off the fuel in the event of a crash or rollover. When they get too old or bad electrical connection to device they think the vehicle is damaged and shut off the fuel this is why it only happens sometimes. Im not sure where the roll over valve is in your vehicle but most are found in the trunk in a corner protected from luggage
