Brakes make a whistle noise when applied and sometimes a low grown or grinding when coming to a slow stop or start.

A grinding or rumbling noise can also be symptoms of a wheel bearing or constant velocity joint in a driveshaft. A worn wheel bearing can also cause a 'whistling' sound (as can a worn CV joint).

A grinding noise with brakes is either worn pads causing metal to metal contact on the brake disk/rotor, or the brake backing plate catching on a spinning rotor ... or a loose/missing anti squeal brake shim (they stop the pads from rattling and vibrating).

However, as you say a mechanic has looked at the brakes and can't find anything wrong .. I think I would begin to suspect a wheel bearing or constant velocity joint on the driveshaft (front wheel drive cars).

Break noise after changing tire

Question, you replaced tire on same rim? did you torque to specs? possible over tightened, possible coincidence and brakes are metal to metal.

Front end noise

front brake pad hardware is worn out , causing pads to move around when jarred , applying brakes tightens pads and noise will go away

My tire is making a very starnge noise when accelerating and reducing speed,,now its impossible to drive as the noise is too harsh and it feels like the tire will pull out any minute,,diferent mechanics...

Not a Daewoo expert, but here are some general facts.
Not sure what the wheel is doing.
If the brake fluid is not returning to the master cylinder the brake pads will stay applied like you are pushing on the brake pedal.
A problem with an axle will cause a clunking noise when the wheel turns, especially when turning right or left.
A hub bearing will cause the wheel to grind, growl, or whine going down the road. Also wobble if it is almost gone.
If the brakes are worn out, the metal pads will grind on the rotor when you apply the brakes.

My car is making a scraping noise on the right front when I apply brakes. Can someone tell me what's going on ??

most probly your brake pads are worn out and the noise you hear is them scraping against the rotor which also may need to be relaced too ,have it checked out by a shop,or a friend who works on cars and save some money.

When I press my brakes I get a grinding sound coming from the wheels. How do I know if it is the forward wheel brake or the back wheel brakes that are worn out?

Slowly apply the park brake while driving in a safe area. If the noise is present the rears are the area of concern as these are the only brakes applied. If the only time the noise is present the brake pedal is depressed, the front brakes need attention.

I have a 99 jeep cherokee sport. When making a sharp turn to the left I hear a rubbing sound coming from the left front tire area. There is currently a light squealing noise when stopping. Are the two...

Probably. Check your brake rotor and caliper. The brake pads may be worn down enough to make that noise. Brake pads are around $29 bucks for a set. And rotors are about the same each at Autozone. I just did mine recently and I am VERY happy now that my 99 Jeep cherokee stops right and doesn't make the rubbing noise when cornering, and the squealing noise when stopping. There you go! Happy Motoring!

Front end noise

Sounds like rust build up on the rotors, this is a common problem with after market rotors,or it is a squealer tab and they squeal to warn you before damage is done to the rotors when brake pads are 2/3 worn down.have a brake inspection done.

ON MY 04 DODGE INTREPID THERES A SHAKE ON TAKE OFF AND WHEN IM AM SLOWING DOWN.. IT STOPS WHEN I REACH A SURTAIN SPEED.. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

The brake pads or rotors are worn or the tires could be worn.If you apply the brake and let off the steering wheel and the car pulls left or right i would suspect the brakes/pads,if not you may have an suspension issue in the front.

2003 PT Cruiser: Scraping Metal sound from BACK left tire area when braking

My rear brakes were making the same sound for over one year. My rear shoes were hard as a stone or glazed. The pads did not look worn, but they made the medal-on-medal sound when I braked. It was pretty loud.

I replaced the brakes shoes and the problem went away. I replaced the shoes myself in about a hour. They were not hard to figure out.
