Why would a 2001 Kia Optima SE cut off while driving and not restart?

If it cuts out while driving and once it cools down a bit will restart your problem could be the crank sensor.

2001 Kia sportage crank but won't start

Make sure you're getting spark at the spark plugs. You can do this by arching the plug to the engine block Just Google "how to test spark plugs". If there is a spark then it could be your timing, which is what happened to my wife's car, once we replaced everything, this was the final thing which solved her problem.

2001 wont start

There could still be moisture in the wiring harness between the sensors and the computer, or the computer could have been damaged.
You would need to find out if the computer is getting a signal from the crank and cam sensors. Most shops would use a scanner to check it.

Engine will not start, start cranks slow and then stops.

If the car cranks then the starter is good. There could be something wrong with a sensor. Or possibly even a fuel issue like the fuel pump. Someone with the appropriate diagnostic tools would need to look at it.

01' Rio won't start

Ignition switch is good idea to start with as well as starter. if it cranked with no spark i will guess timing belt or crank sensor but you say it doesn't crank

let me know after you try some other fixes. Like ignition switch
