Question about Honda Accord

1 Answer

My Accord runs great except once ina long while it refuses to start. A mechanic told us to tap a small metal conector (?) on the FUEL line (at least it appears to be a the fuel line) that is attached to the back wall of the engine compartment. Sometimes it works. Other times we just have to return and try the car at various intervals. Once it cranks....it's good for several months at the time. What else could we try???

Honda Accord 86 carburetor engine does not pump fuel from thank except fuel is passed direct from a gallon, problems and solutions

Bad fuel pump? Not sure if that had a mechanical or electrical pump. You have to find out and see why it won't pump. If it is a mechanical pump, it will be on the engine. If an electric pump, it could be in the gas tank, but I believe it might be outside the tank, in the line somewhere from tank to the engine. Lots of imports started with pumps placed near the tank but next to a frame rail. It was in the fuel line between the pump and the engine.

How to replace 2007 accord Se fuel pump?

have to drop the gas tank its located inside, once tank is down will have a metal lock ring that hold the assembly in place take a flat tip screw driver and a hammer and tap the ring around to unlock position and pull up on the metal lines should come free becare full there sometime a plastic or rubber oring/seal under try not to damage it after that remove the fuel assembly and replace with new then reverse your process to put back in

hope this helps

1998 Accord EX won't start

look under the car at the gas tank .look for small metal fuel lines that goes to a small little round metal canister that is mounted to a bracket with a bango fuel line connected to it.thats the fuel filter.FIRST RELIEVE FUEL PRESSURE BEFORE REMOVING FILTER.YOU LOOSEN GAS CAP.THEN YOU GET RAGS TO CATCH GAS THEN YOU GET INLINE WRENCHES.TAKE INLINE WRENCHES AND BARELY LOOSEN LINES AT THE FUEL FILTER TO RELIEVE GAS PRESSURE.USE RAGS TO CATCH GAS.WHEN YOU PUT THE NEW FILTER ON BESURE TO GET NEW BANJO WASHERS.DO NOT USE THE OLDS ONE ARE YOU WILL HAVE A GAS LEAKS.WHEN YOU FINISH REPLACING FUEL FILTER.TURN CAR IGNITION IN ON POSITION FOR A FEW SECONDS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO GAS LEAKS.

Jump start 1993 Honda Accord but it did not

could be a couple of things. first make sure the battery is good for sure (have it tested and charged if needed) check for airflow (rodents...yes little animals can crawl into your air intake and make a little nest...i had one that actually chewed on my air filter a bit) and clear it out. Lastly check your fuel, see if the lines ran dry. after sitting there for a while the pressure in your fuel line dissipates and could actually drain completely into your gas tank...which means you have have to keep trying to start untill all the fuel lines are filled with gas. You could also just click your car on (not the last switch which starts you car... the one before it like when you drive) and just leave it for a few minutes. It powers up your fuel pump and pressurizes the lines. These things SHOULD get your car started otherwise something might have frozen up, like a fuel pump or starter or the engine itself although i would think the latter unlikely. check the 3 things first...Battery, Airflow, and Fuel delivery. hope this helps
