Ok...this is an interesting you have electric is for the radiator (cooling system) and one is for the a/c system. The radiator one will sometimes stay on after the engine has stopped and the key is out of the ignition, due to superheating ( a condition where the temperature of the coolant spikes after it stops being circulated around the engine) and will continue for a couple of minutes in the hotter weather.

But, considering it stops when you put the brake on...???? this definetly sounds like a short to me, and this together with the battery going flat...defineite short....

If you have got little experience in automotive electrical, I suggest you take it to a specialised repair shop to at least diagnose it.

I hope this helps you...\

Fan stays on when car off

This is most likely a bad BCM. That is a body control module. They control all the inside aspects of the car much like the ECU controls the engine.

When I turn on the a/c the car gets hot

Check your electric cooling fan on the radiator to make sure it comes on when you have the ac turned on . This is a common problem with a lot of cars that have an electric fan they may not over heat while driving down the road until you put a pull on the moter like the ac running . And it may have 2 fans and only one working

When I turn my car off the air conditioner still runs-I needed a jump the other day because it ran all night and wore the battery down.

OK, if the relay for the A/C fan is bad, then the radiator's fan will keep running after turning off the ignition. Also, if the fan for ventilation of the A/C in the cabin stays on after the ignition is turned off, the relay for that is bad.

Good luck on this repair.

Check both fans for free turning and no bearing noise (engine cold). Replace any motors that are suspect. You need to verify that the fans come on--turn on the A/C which should force the fans to run all the time. If they do, that eliminates the fans, relay, fuse, and computer. The temperature gauge should be driven by the computer with information from the temperature sensor, which also controls fan operation when the A/C is turned off. If the temperature gauge is driven from a different source, then the temperature sensor would be the place to look. Both fans should turn on shortly after the thermostat opens releasing water from the engine into the radiator (feel the upper hose). Use compressed air to blow out all the bugs and other debris from the radiator core (from the engine side). I hope this helps.

1998 Nissa Sentra brake light & battery light come on

I had the same problem with my 96 Nissan/ infinity g20.
If I turned on the ac the brake & battery lights came on, the AC fan would work but the air did not blow cold. Disconnected the battery for a few hours to reset the computer. That solved the problem.
Now, no lights, and the AC blows cold.

chances are the motor or your heater went out try kicking the housing or tapping on the motor and listen if it makes any nois or even starts going make sure you have the fan turned on when you try this also to make sure your switch is good disconect the wires at the moter turn on the heater and see if you have voltage you can use a test light or a multimeter on dc

I think there may be a control unit for the fan near one of the front suspension mounts, but it may be a "stuck" relay in the main relay board. Unfortunately I don't know which one it is, but you could remove and replace them one by one until it stops!

If it is one of the removable relays you could try giving it a "reminder" by tapping it on a hard surface and hope that it frees itself.
Hope this helps you a bit. D.
