Someone tryed to steal my 1997 Jetta,I replaced the key and lock, and Iniction switch, car turns over but won t start, have gas ,fuel pump is working but not gas getting to the front, what to do?

I am afraid its a security issue probably, after the ignition was replaced, security system may need reprogrammed by the dealer or a good tech. with necessary software.

Hi I have a Cherokee 2000 my problem is it starts right up & it will shut itself back off, if I let it sit, it may start after a few hours. Key light blinks, acts almost like someone is stealing it.

Check your security system out.
Use another key and see if that works Just an idea as sometimes the code bar on the starting key gets worn out. .

1997 jeep grand cherokee won't start after alarm went off

I just had the same prblem. Reconnect your alarm first of all. You need to use your key bob "remote" to deactivate the alarm before starting. It is a feature "good one" i might add that should someone try to steal it the jeep will not start until u deactivate it w theke bob.

What can i do to start my car? if someone tryed stealing my car? didn't get it but nw my car won't start. what can be done about this problem

Hello, Many times a fuel safety feature called an "Inertia sensor" will activate when a door or the trunk lid is closed hard enough to trip this sensor. You should find the sensor in the trunk on the Drivers' side of the car. The switch will be behind the carpeting and all you need to do is press a button on the switch to reset it. After doing that, your car should start if that was the problem.

If someone tried to use the wrong car key from another Ford product, then this can mess up the Security codes in the Anti-theft system. Should someone have tried to use the wrong key, you will need to tow the car to a Dealer for a reboot of the Security system.

I hope my solution is helpful to you.

The battery died on my 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo and after the first time I jumped it and drove it around a little to try and charge the battery, the Security light came on. After I parked it and turned it...

Im pretty knowledgable in the whole SECURITY light issue... I dont think this could cause the door lock to not work correctly, but anything is possible. Newer cars are wound up pretty tight. Here is a link to help understand how the security works.

I'd go ahead and do a "security relearn" on you car. It might help if that is what caused the door issue.
Turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) Turn back your key to regular position and check the door lock. May have to do this process 3x

My 1994 jeep grand cheeroke 4.0 inline 6 cyl will start but dies instantly afterward it has fuel but just randomly the security system started acting up i tried putting my key in driver door and turning it...

Try using the key-less entry to disarm the security. then I think I would get out the test light and look at the A.S.D. (auto shut down) relay in the fuse box under the hood. Verify it is not ignition switch. This relay gives the injectors, coil, and other things power.

The problem is that your passlock Or maybe its passkey, security system is failing. The vehicle thinks that someone is trying to steal it and goes into lockout mode. Depending on your vehicle make model and year, I might have an inexpensive solution for you. check out this site. You will see your indicator light right away. Read up on the symptoms and solutions. Hopefully one will work for you. If not, its dealer time. Get your pocketbook out. Best of luck

My 1998 Chev Cavalier Theft System light stays on

If the car starts and dies right away you may have a pass key sensor fault.
Try to start the car,if the car dies right away just leave the key on and watch the security light in the insturment panel,if it begins to blink leave the key on until it stops blinking (apx 10 mins.) this will reprogram the pass lock to the pcm and may solve all your problems.if the car continues to die after running a min or so then you may have other faults,or if the car dies right after start the pass lock sensor may need to be replaced.

Car wont start. security light on.

I had this same problem with my 2002 Monte. It is a very cheap fix about $100(If you do not got to the dealer $800) The car thinks that you are trying to steal it so you have to turn the key in the on position until the security light goes off and when the light goes off dont try to start it. Turn the key to the off position and then try to start it. It should take about ten minutes. I know its frustrating cuz I've been there.
