Question about 2003 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

My 2003 Altima, 3.5 has intermittent issues with the Heat/AC fan. At times it won't blow at all and at times it will only blow very lightly no matter what the setting. Again, this is not a constant issue. Any suggestions on possible causes/cures would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you have a bad heater control module. simply put, the knob where you turn the fan on,,, that part is bad and needs replaced. hope this helps you!!

Thanks for the response. However, the controls aren't operated by knobs, it is an electronic controlled system. So, to increase the fan speed, I push the the button with "up" arrow and the screen inidcates, by way of increasing number of bars, what speed the fan is on.

I have a nissan altima 2003, when I turn on the heat, I only get heat when the car is in motion, if I am at a stand still the air turns cold

Check to see if when you are at a standstill the cooling fans are running all the time. It also could be that the water pump has a issue and pumping enough when idling.

Cooling fan wont turn on

check your fuse to see if its blown. Do you have one or two fans? If you have 2 fans turn your ac on to see if the other fan comes on. If your fuse is good you probably have a bad fan

AC/Heat Fan runs continuously and Rear end roaring noise

Sounds like the wheel bearing on the right rear hub may be defective, that would cause the noise if the tires are ok. As far as the fan goes not sure this isn't working as designed.

2003 mitsubishi galant es ac/fan problem

sounds like the fan controller switch in the panel has gone nutty. I would take the car to the dealer and let them diagnose the issue, they are best when it comes to knowing your car the most and in diagnosing problems with them better than just a regular joe blow shop that works on everything and doesn't specialize in any particular issue.
