Question about 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

I recently purcahsed a 2002 Chysler Town and Country van. I changed the oil and rotated the tires. This van has a TPMS sysytem in it and I retrained the TPMS with a magnet and got retrained complete message. But, now I get a message which asks if the spare is on the car. I've pressed the right button both ways up and down for no, but the message still comes up. I then pressed the left button up only and the message does not come up every time I start the car and drive, but it still comes up every 4th or 5th time. What can I do to have this message to stop coming up?

Warning lights van

that is the tire pressure monitoring system warning light, letting you know that one or more of your tire pressures is lower than spec. Some people have the light come on after service to wheels/tires. Damage to TPMS sensors is common when removing tires from wheels.

How do I reset the oil light on a 1998 Chysler Town and Country? Manual doesn't say how.

if this is the service light, you could try 1.Disconnect battery for couple of minutes. 2. on trip meter button hold in and turn ignition on wait till light goes out in possibly 10-15 seconds

I broke my tpms on my 04 town and country limited is it OK to just buy a used wheel from same type of van. Dealer wants 150 for valve

same wheel is ok, but the batteries in them only last about 5 years. When you get new tires, the tire store is required to test and fix system. I have had Costco put in new sensor/valve for $5-10 extra per wheel.

No Lights - Home Link and Door Buttons - Center Ceiling Console

I've never heard of anyone fix the LED lights. When they go, there gone. Just replace the overhead console. It's eazy to replace the console. Th console just pops down. No special clips. Call the salvage yards for one around $35..Get the warranty from the salvage yard Do Not Buy AS IS. Make sure to remove the negitive battery cable before removing. the console. Eveything unplugs eazy from the console

2002 town & country "service tire system soon"

If all the sensors retrained, you either still have low tire pressure, or the computer which reads the sensors needs to be reprogrammed with a different tire pressure threshold.

How to retrain tpms after tire rotation?

I have a 2005 with tire pressure monitoring also and was surprised when I rotated the tires that the system continued to work O.K. The manual says the dealer must retrain the sensors to recognize the tires but so far mine seem to be working just fine.
Retraining probable requires digital readout box to reset the computer and unless you know someone who has one the dealer is probably your best bet.

Rotated tires on 2002 Chrysler 300M.

you need a magnet. there should have been one provided with the spare tire and jack. when you select retrain sensors you must put the magnet on the drivers front tire valve stem. once the vehicle has learned the sensore new position the horn will chirp then you move onto the next tire in a clockwise rotation without neglecting the spare if it is a full size mounted on a rim with a sensor
