I was in a accident and the engine light stayed on after the fuel cutoff button was reset. Is it a matter of resetting something in the computer?

Have the car scanned to extract trouble codes. May be a fuel cutoff code or may be something else. The scanner can clear the codes, but make sure you write them down before clearing. If the code is anything other than fuel cutoff, report back.

2013 Jetta SE Fuel Pump Relay & pump location?? the wont start gas not making it to engine. It was running and now is shut off. it is a salvage car & im not sure if there is some kind of a reset...

Check the inertial cutoff switch. It is normally located in the trunk area, and is designed to cut power to the fuel pump in the event of an accident. There will be a reset button on it, or you can simply bypass it with a jumper to test. VERY COMMON ISSUE for cars in junk yards, especially if they have been in an accident.

2005 JAGUAR S TYPE TURNS OVER BUT WONT START AFTER ACCIDENT DOES IT HAVE FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH AND WHERE IS IT LOCATED

You likely tripped the Fuel Shut-Off Inertia Switch.
The inertia switch is located behind the trim on the right-hand
side of the vehicle, forward of the front door post, below the
fascia. Pull open the small panel in the trim to reset the switch.
Resetting the switch
CAUTION !!!:
To avoid the possibility of fire or personal injury, do not
reset the inertia switch if you see or smell fuel.
If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the inertia switch as follows:
Press the button!
If the switch was activated by the accident, you should feel it "click" when you reset it by pushing it.

Happy Motoring!

How do i reset my 1999 mustang fuel pump?

Reset your fuel pump? If you mean the inertia switch, all you have to do is push the button on the inertia switch to reset it. It is located in the lower left rear corner of the trunk.

Please note that if your fuel pump is not working, it is NOT the inertia switch unless you have been involved in an accident, or slammed something (like a curb or a HUGE pothole) pretty hard recently. If this is what happened, the engine would have died IMMEDIATELY after such an accident.

If i have a wreck does the fuel pump have a reset that kicks out

No, there is no reset for the fuel pump system. Something else is causing the fuel pump to not run.
Good luck.

Is there a reset button on this fuel pump

CHEVY DOESN'T USE A FUEL PUMP RESET/CUTOFF SWITCH, FORDS USE THIS FEATURE, ON A CHEVY IT IS DONE WITH THE OIL PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH, SO IF U LOOSE OIL PRESSURE THE FUEL PUMP CUTS OFF, THIS OIL PRESSURE FUEL PUMP CUTOFF SWITCH AND IT'S WIRING ARE NEAR THE OIL FUILTER UNDER THE TRUCK.

Check engine light stays on at all time seems to cut out fuel when you want to go fast

There is a fuel cutoff set by the cars computer that limits the RPM's of the engine to prevent engine damage. If its cutting out below say 5000 rpm, then theres a problem. The check engine light being on steady means one of the sensors detected something the computer doesnt like. Get the car to a good mechanic to scan the light and retrieve the trouble code. That will tell you what the problem is. Some auto parts stores, like Auto Zone, will scan the light for free.

The fuel cutoff switch appears to be jammed or not able to manual

It is not tripped if the red button is pushed down. The switch might just be defective. How many wires are going to the switch? And what colors are they?
