Question about 2003 Kia Sedona

1 Answer

I have a 2003 Kia Sedona Minivan with 2 problems: l) rear panel window (which vents open by pushing a button above drivers seat) opened but now won't close. I have tried having someone gently push it while I press the button...nothing. 2) the maplight in the center roof console keeps coming on on its own. When I wiggle hit a bit it stops but eventually does it again at some point. I'm worried about draining the battery.

Is there a knob on the same console for that map light--the console that has the window controls? Maybe that console is coming apart inside. See diagram below.

SOURCE: 2004 kia sorento the dome light will not come on

The problem is the diode needs to be replaced. The dome light works in the "on" position, but does not work when any of the doors are opened. The diode itself is about half the size of a dime which you can buy from a kia dealer for less then $20. You don't have to disconnect the battery to do this.
1. Remove the kick panel which is right next to the foot rest on the drivers side and where the fuse box is located. You will have to pry open the door foot guard to get to the other screw for the kick panel.
2. right next to the fuses box there is a wiring harness wraped in black cloth like material or some type of harness cover, just peel it back or remove. You can feel the diode through the wrap.
3. the diode is in a sleeve like incasement or cover carefully pry open and slide the diode out.
4. replace diode with new one and your done.

Kia Sedona- center and third row heating vents blowing cold air

There is a separate button on the lower dash labeled RR HTR for the rear heater. If you do not engage the switch it will blow cold air.

How do i get the dome lights to come on in my kia sedona (2005) when the passenger door opens? All of the other doors make the interior lights come on except the passenger door and I've checked the manual...

Sounds like you require a new interior light switch on the passenger door. Find this little push button switch and give it a few flicks and taps with your finger and see if the light at least flickers. You could open the drivers door and fiddle about until you determine which and where is the switch.

I have a 2003 kia sedona that has a rear hatch that will not open. Any way to remove a panel to access to repair.

This happened to me, I removed the interior light fixture on the rear hatch and reached in to pull the connecting rod, this works for an one off opening, you will need to take the panel off once the hatch is open and repair your outer handle, our connection was broken at the handle which I repaired and it works great. Hope this helps.
