I have a 2002 jaguar x type and didn't pass the inspection sticker because the check engine light is on. They give me this codes that couse that( P0171b, P0174b)Please tell me what they meant and what I can do tu fix this problem. Thx

The P0171 n P0174 codes come up when the ECM detects a lean air fuel mixture in the system. This means that there is too much air in the mixture.
This can be caused by one or more of the following:
Vacuum leak between MAF sensor and throttle. Check air duct to intake manifold, make sure the clamp is tight.
Fuel Filter restricted - Replace
Fuel Injector restricted - Service fuel system.
Fuel Pump low output - Check fuel pump pressure
Fuel Pressure Sensor defective - Test.
HO2 sensors faulty = Check sensors and wiring
Exhaust leak (before catalyst) - Check
ECM receiving incorrect signal from one or more of the following sensors: MAF, ECT, IAT, IP, EFT, OR TP SENSORS. - Have them checked.

    I have the exact same issue. Replaced coil in No. 4 cylinder as well as fouled plug. Ran great for awhile but still a little rough. Check engine light came on again with same code. Dealer diagnosed need for injector system replacement ($1400.00) unless you can do it yourself.

check engine lights are a pain and unlucky there's no way to turn them off and pass inspection untill whatever the codes call for to be fix and jaguars are tough cars to work on and have expensive parts if you cant seems to get it fix i would suggest taking it to the dealer.

Hi,
The light coming on is an indication of a malfunction in the engine management system.
The cars computer has now stored a malfunction code, turning on the light. A parts store as Auto Zone or a Jag dealer can scan the computer with a "code scanner". Many parts stores will do this for free.
The code scanner will give the reason why the light went on. This aids the mechanic of your choice in the repair.
You need to find a place to scan the computer. Although the car runs good the light is a warning that something is amiss.

2000 Daewoo, check engine light is on. How to turn
hate to tell you this,but park next door to your test site,get out and disconnect your battery for about 30 secs. when you reconnect it,it puts your engine into an "open loop" mode, for about 25-50 miles,and while in the loop,that annoying light wont come on. you still need to goto auto zone and have them pull the codes to tell you whats going on to cause the light to come on,but this trick will get ya your inspection sticker.

Check engine light on jaguar x-type 2002 only some of th time. also a orange light that looks like the shape of a transmission. whats up with this?
Check the transmission fluid level under the hood. Also, take it to any autozone and they will read the code for u to find out exactly why that warning light is on.

there are hundreds of reasons the check engine light comes on, when the light comes on a code or codes are set in the memory of the on board computer, here is what u do, go to any Kragen or Autozone parts store and then ask for a trouble code test, it is a free service. the radio can be the door switch, the car has a feature called delayed exit.

Engine number location for 2002 audi a4
is it a 1.8 turbo or 2.8 V6 or 2.7 biturbo V6 ? on most models what you will be looking for is a 3 letter code like ATQ or APW and is normally on a sticker on the timing belt cover, it is also stamped into the engine on a ledge up high. if no luck there check the owners manual, around the 3rd page there will be a sticker that was put in the book during predelivery inspection this sticker is about 3 inches by 3 inches and filled with id codes for almost everything. If the pdi wasn't done right another copy of the same sticker will be under or next to the spare tire in the spare tire well.

Check engine light code p1603
When I went outside to start my Jaguar X-Type it was cold outside. I was in a hurry and didn't let the car warm up properly. It jumped a bit then the check engine light came on along with a message that said No cruise control. The no cruise light came off but my check engine light is still on. Any suggestions as to what it may be?
