If so just turn the key to run position ( not start) then one click back. Do this a total of 3 times ending in the run ( or on; not start) position. The odometer will display the code(s) or in an older model the check engine light will flash out the code. Have your pen and paper ready to jot down the results.

Will a 2000 4.0 from a jeep cherokee sport replace a 2000 4.0 in a jeep grand cherokee?

Yes...both are identical. Only thing I'd check further on is if one has a manual transmission you may have a different flywheel flange or will need a pilot bushing if the vehicle getting the engine is stick.
If both are problem at all.

2000 cherokee sport / ran good / had plugs changed & new valve cover with new gasket = picked it up , check engine lite on; scaned it ; comes up cycl 6 misfire everytime? [6cyl4.0]

Sounds like something may not have been reinstalled properly. I would take it back and have them recheck the job. I would check around that cylinder to see if something was left disconnected. Also check the spark plug gap of that plug, it may be incorrect.

Jeep cherokee sport (year 2000) -- re: bypass for remote ignition

if you went to jeep
they'd tell you not to do that(use what you bought)
Jeep has the right parts....

why to go geeks , its car not a PC.

your car has the IMMO called SKIM. (complex , RTM yet, no)
it will not be hacked by ANY geek or box.
JEEP uses, rolling encrypted codes to start the engine.
SKIM allows it.
your trying to bypass that with out jeeps help is nuts.
over the top, waste of time or even worse DANGEROUS.

why put this junk on your car.?
the car works great with out it.!
then late, you need car fixed and your mechcanic
needs to jump hoops to discover what some other idiott did.
hacking up a good working car.
or far far from town and it fails, and nobody can help
you did that to your self.!!!

here, go to jeep
buy the MOPAR system if H3ll bent to have this junk

Code u1411 on jeep grand cherokee

Implausible fuel volume is the code, but it most likely was set from a bad ignition switch. It has to do with the malfunction of the switch, really setting a false code, and there might be another one also, but the ignition switch will correct the problem.

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport and it just won't turn over. It has full power inside and a brand new battery.

You need to begin testing at the battery using a volt meter. Power requirement of interior is far lower than the starter needs. Check battery for 12v, check that posts & terminals are clean and secure, Check starter relay in the power distribution center, make sure grounds are good at the engine end. Check for 12v at the starter main terminal and 12v at the starter trigger wire with the key in the start position. (if you have both, likely starter has failed,) if power only at main terminal, re-check relay, and also test neutral safety switch and ignition switch. If no power at main terminal go back to the battery and re-test everything between again.

1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport Ignition Lights Come on but wont crank

Try putting the car in neutral and starting. If its a manual trans it might be the clutch pedal safety switch or it may be something as simple as a loose battery connection.
