If you have a viscous fan hub then have it replaced as it is not moving the air through the radiator. Check how you placed the thermostat in the system as the bulb bit faces into the head or block so that it can sense the rising water temperature and open as required.. With not water moving through the hose I suspect that may be your problem

Car overheated and lost all power. how do I get it to start?

ENGINE NOT GOING TO START IF GET TOO HOT FIRST THING I WOULD REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP THEN ADD COOLANT UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL CORRECT THATS WHEN THERMOSTAT OPEN UP AND TOP HOSE HOT.CHECK FOR LEAKING RADIATOR HOSES CHECK TOP RADIATOR HOSE CHECK BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.CHECK FOR LEAKS AROUND THE RADIATOR LOOK DOWN BELOW COOLANTS FANS CHECK FOR LEAKS AT RADIATOR CORES OR LEAKS AT THE RADIATOR PLASTIC SIDE CONTAINERS. CHECK FOR LEAKS AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE AND CHECK FOR LEAKS AT THE HEATER HOSES AROUND ENGINE BLOCK TO THE HEATER CORE HOSES. THERE IS A REASON CAR OVERHEAT.IF CAR OVERHEAT WHILE DRIVING YOU HAVE FAULTY THERMOSTAT OR LEAKING OUT COOLANT OR BLOWN HEAD GASKET.IF ENGINE OVER HEAT WHILE SITTING DURING A LONG IDLING PERIOD.YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OR FAULTY COOLING FAN FUSE OR RELAY.HOT WIRE COOLANT TO SEE IF IT RUNS IF NO REPLACE FAN MOTOR. IF YES FAN MOTOR COULD HAVE FAULTY WIRE OR PCM FAILURE. CHECK ENGINE CRANKCASE IF OIL LOOKS LIKE MILK SHAKE ENGINE HEAD GASKET LEAKING.

2002 Mazda protege heater only blows cold air and engine is over heating. What could be wrong with this car?

1. See if simply adding coolant fixes it. 2. Try replacing the thermostat and the radiator cap. One way to check the thermostat is to start the engine and feel the upper radiator hose. The hose should not feel uncomfortably hot until the engine has warmed-up and the thermostat opens. If the hose does not get hot, it means the thermostat is not opening.
2. Look for antifreeze leaks, inspect the radiator, water pump and hoses. 3. If there are no leaks, and the above steps don't correct the problem, you might have a blown head gasket.

Hello, my fiance has been having some issues with his 2004 dodge neon running hot. We replaced the thermostat, spark plugs and wires and replaced the radiator cap and gave it a radiator flush. It does...

first check the fuse, then run a wire from the battery to the fan(s)if they run then it aint them.as you have replaced the thermostat,it aint that.so it must be the temp sensor or the relay.try the sensor first as its cheaper.....also unclip the highest hot hose and expell any air in system.(do it when hot and rear rubber gloves)

I have a bmw 320i and when i start it its fine but only got to drive for 10 mins and it overheats

The first thing to do would be to check the coolant level, then make sure the fan clutch locks up when it gets hot,if coolant is full then start the car and run it until it starts running hot then feel both radiator hoses and see if both top and bottom hoses are hot this will tell you if tstat is opening, if only the top is hot then start with a thermostant, also make sure all fan belts are on and not very loose, i've found some of these older bmw's to have bad head gaskets that make them run hot, start with the test ,and check level first.

Are you losing coolant? If not, check for a stuck thermostat. Start the car and allow it to run to temperature. The upper and lower hoses should be hot and firm. If the bottom one is not hot or firm there isn't any coolant flowing through it meaning the coolant is not leaving the motor. The thermostat is under the housing where the top hose goes into the engine. To change it remove the hose and remove the housing where the hose connects. The thermostat pops right out. Install a new one and reconnect everything. If that doesn't solve the problem you'll need to look for other signs of coolant loss including the head gasket, side tanks on radiator, and hose connections.

My engine runs hot

Replace the thermostat . Check your coolant level. Do not run the car hot. More damage such as warped heads and head gasket damage will occur. The intake manifold gaskets can also blow. Bleed the system when refilling with antifreeze/coolant. if the fans are not turning replace the temperature control sensor located at the top of the enging near the thermostat housing.

Coolant bizarre behavior

if car doesn't run hot with no thermostat...you may be air-locking system when installing thermostat. I always fill the engine block up to the thermostat housing to make sure that engine is full of fluid ..then install thermostat...spring facing down..thenfill radiator making sure car is running so as not to air lock system ...run until top hose gets warm ,showing that your thermostat opened
