Need diagram of Air conditioner evaporator - S 10 Chevrolet Cars & Trucks

Chevy 2002 S10: My A/C fan is blowing hot air. Before I replace the compressor, I want to check the evaporator system inside the vehicle but I need a diagram of this exact unit so I can clean it properly. I've heard this is a common problem with these older models - trash getting in the evaporator area.

HI. The actual diagram you have described simply does not exists. It would be nice if it really did, but it does not, unfortunately. With that said; I have something more descriptive and I think it will help you even more. Below will be a link to a very informative removal and installation procedure file that pertains the the evaporator. This PDF file will contain diagrams and detailed information on how to remove and install the evaporator, correctly. These are step by step instructions and pictogram's that will guide you through the entire process. Click the link below to access the file.

Where is evaporator coil located in 2008 saturn outlook. How much should this cost to fix

Evaporator coils (evaporator) is the unit inside the car that the cold air come from in the air conditioner. They are expensive and in most instances need the dash to be removed to have them replaced. Fortunately they are seldom prone to failure, but suffer from blockage in the fins from dust build up and leakage at the pipe fittings . They have a TX valve at the inlet end which may block up but this is a replaceable unit . Get an opinion from an accredited ac specialist shop before replacing the evaporator.

The air conditioning in my 2005 T&C stopped working. Right before it stopped there was a "burnt" smell coming through the vents. What happened?

No air coming from air conditioning vents
  1. Check the air conditioner fuse and replace as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner system discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  3. Air conditioner low pressure switch defective. Replace switch.
  4. Air conditioner fan resistor pack defective. Replace resistor pack.
  5. Loose connection, broken wiring or defective air conditioner relay in air conditioning electrical circuit. Repair wiring or replace relay as necessary. Air conditioner has a smell when used
    1. The air conditioner evaporator drain hose is blocked or partially restricted, allowing condensation to build up around the evaporator and drainage tray. Clear the drain hose where it exits the passenger compartment.
    2. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

It sounds like the evaporator pan drain is plugged or worst case the evaporator is rutptured.Try clearing the drain, open hood and look on lower rightside of firewall for a very short rubber hose.Use small screwdriver and clean out hole.Hope it's just plugged.

I need a diagram to install a dodge durango 2000 air conditioner evaporator

This job requires special tools and special training. If you lack either, you risk SERIOUS personal injury.

You need to address oil levels, proper and legal refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and recharge.

You were planning to also replace the receiver/dryer, correct? It also needs the oil in it measured and incorporated into the amount of oil (in %) that would need to be added. FAILURE to address these and other issues will guarantee premature system failure and likely compressor damage.

Take this job to a qualified shop.

Water collection in the air conditioner. Drain is

You need to clean the drain out as your first step. This is accessed by raising the vehicle on a lift then using something like a coat hanger pressed into the drain hole at the base of the firewall next to the transmission bellhousing on the passenger half of the vehicle.
