Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Galant

Open Question

My son was driving his 2003 galant on the hwy and the oil light came on for a second and he lost all power. He has a new battery and the car is trying to turn over. My husband feels the fuel pump is not running. Is there a fuel cut off switch we do not have a manuel on the car. Thanks Tina

2003 Galant stopped while driving. Both belts okay. Oil is okay. Can not get engine to start. Battery is okay. While not turn over at all.

sounds like a bad ground wire, also chech theelectrical plug connection at the throttle body.
remove that plug and plug it back in.
the 3 ltr and above engines are notorious for having this problem.Gary

It seems that you can indeed drive it, but it is unclear whether it is safe or not. Best to ask a mechanic.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2003 Galant fuel pump ground problem

Power to the pump is provided by the relay for the first 3 or 5 seconds to build pressure back up to start. Once the 5 seconds are past, the relay is grounded by the computer IF it sees oil pressure or crank signals. This helps prevent a fire if the car is in a wreck.
If it still won't start with the pump relay bypassed, you would check for spark and see if the computer is getting a crank signal.

I have an 2001 galant V4 2.4l and the oil and the battery lights keep flashing when the car is in low rpm an the battery drains completely in a couple of days

not sure these are related. battery light is due to alternator failure. Oil light is due to oil pump wear. The oil pump may work OK for a couple more years. Replace it if it gets much worse (if light comes on above 1000 rmp). The alternator must be replace now.

Was driving my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant on the freeway & suddenly lost all power & the oil light came on. Now I can't get it to turn over at all. Any solutions?

check the battery if it is dead it is probably you alternator wasn't charging your battery and you where running on the reserve off you battery. if that's not the problem the ignition module is my second check usually when it heats up an cuts out let it cool down if it starts you module is going out

Mitsubishi galant stopped while driving and all transmission fluid spilled out

sounds like his transmission just died. On most cars whan the transmission goes, components inside fail and the car quits moving. But on some vehicles the transmission literally self destructs and blows a hole through the transmission housing, leaving a puddle of transmission fluid like you described. I've seen it before on Chystler products but not Mitsubishis, but from what you've described it sounds the very same.
