Where does a oxygen sensor go on a toyota celica 2000 ?

  • Locate the upstream and downstream oxygen sensors under the vehicle near the front axle. The upstream and downstream sensors resemble spark plugs with several wires connected to them. Remove the sensors by turning them clockwise with a 22-millimeter wrench.Locate the wiring harness inside the vehicle under the center console on the front passenger side. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the oxygen sensors. Feed the wires down through the vehicle and pull them out under the car.Feed the wiring assemblies on the new sensors up through the floor of the vehicle. Reconnect the wires in the wiring harness. Screw in the new oxygen sensors with your fingers. Once they are in place, tighten them with a 22-millimeter wrench.Remove the jack stands and lower the Celica to the ground. Remove the tire blocks. There should be a sensor before the CAT converter, and one RIGHT after it.

Where exactly is the bank one sensor one located on my 2003 Toyota Avalon? I know it is near the firewall but I can't quite locate it. Once I get it out, how do I test it to make sure it is the issue...

It's screwed into the exhaust manifold. A test is pasted below. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

    1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
    2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT. Resistance specification: 11 - 16 ohms at 20°C (68°F).
    3. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
    4. Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.

MY 2003 TOYOTA SEQUOIA GOT ENGINE AND VSC LIGHTS ON. ON THE DEALER, THE COMPUTER READ A OXIGEN SENSOR B1 S1Y GOT THE PART, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO INSTALLED AND WHERE IS LOCATED.

That model Sequoia should have four oxygen sensors. There will be two in each exhaust line. One will be in front of the catalytic converter, and one will be behind it.

B1 should mean bank one. This is the driver side. S1 is probably the oxygen sensor located before the catalytic converter; however, I am not certain of the number sequence here.

The sensors screw into the exhaust pipe. They will have wires coming out the top.

I had the same problem, replacing you thermostat should do the trick, i spent 8.99 on a new thermostat and 99 cents on a seal. For some reason engine temperature affects the transmission shifting. Good luck
