Are you sure it is not an electrical problem? Spray some starting fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, then it is a fuel problem. If not then you need to look at computer or sensor problems.
Grab some refrigerant gauges and take readings. If the low side has more than 40 psi or so of pressure, the low limit switch will close and allow the compressor to run. If there is indeed low pressure causing the compressor not to run, you will need to flush the system after eliminating the source of the leak. If the a/c compressor has never been changed, it is probably the source of the leak.

Fuses are under ashtray, #8 & #25 + breaker 24 are known issues but various items run off them, u need mechanic unles u know how to trace electrical. Known issues : definately 1987-88 & also some other years : MAKE sure your center console is closed & Latched or lite will stay on. At nite look see if your vanity mirrors lites, or "dome" lites or trunk lites, or brake lites are on.
You need to get the alternator and the battery tested,and then when you find the problem and repair it you need a code reader put on it to put out the warning or check engine light.
steering columns are tricky bastards, even with schematic they are difficult ton rebuild, my advise is to carefully dissassemble and make notes, i have done many and you need patience, they only go back together one way and sometimes require installation of may parts at once and only in the proper order, have fun
there's a plate on the bottom of the car where the alternator is. After the plate is removed the alternator comes out thru the bottom.Loosen the two lines by the raditor on that side then it is easier to remove alternator
