    Thanks for you reply.
The car is a 1996 WB Ford Festiva 1300cc Manual. the problem is there seems to be vibration coming throught the steering wheel when driving between 80 and 100km/hr. It is intermitent and my thoughts are that it is something todo with the front disc brakes, maybe a warped disc or the disc is not located on the hub correctly, Im not sure how the disc and hub are assembled, hence why im after a diagram of the hub and brake assembly

Hi there,

My name is Mike. A couple times a day I go looking around to give some pointers to our clients (you).

Look at it your question from our point of view, there are a lot of manuals out there, We need a little more info.

More is better:

If you are serious about getting an answer, include Make, Model of the product that's misbehaving and what type of product it is.

Describe your problem clearly, concisely and with as much detail as possible.

For future reference:
Often, a problem can be the result of a seemingly unrelated event. It is always a good idea to include a recent history.

Additional information such as what steps have already been taken, has the product ever worked, is it new, etc. can have a bearing on providing the best solution for your particular circumstances.

Remember, you are a key participant in this process. We are not there, you are. We depend on you to be our eyes and ears. We can only respond to what you provide us. Without you, all our talent is worthless. How's that for an ego build?

What you get out of the experience depends on what you put in to it. So help us help you.

It would be also be advantageous in your case to repost your problem so that it is correctly categorized and starts over at the top of the queue. This way it can be directed to someone with expertise in the area you need. They may have the manual memorized. Who knows?

Best regards

Mike

Brake light still on the dashboard after refilling the brake fluid 1998 Toyota camry

There is corrosion or water or other contaminant in the brake system, and it is warning of a serious problem. Don't mess with the system unless you have thorough knowledge, aided by the link below for a similar model. Especially if it has ABS (most likely) take it to a brake shop soon.

You mean the emergency brake (hand brake)? That will engage your brake system on your car so it stays still. Especially useful when you park on an incline.

After bleeding brakes still have spongy brakes

you still have some air in the lines. go back thru the bleed process again if that doesn't work, get to a power brake bleeder.(amazon about$70) that is a system that puts pressure on top of mc to push fluid thru the system as you open bleed screws. did you know you can adjust brakes by holding down lock button and pumping emergency brake handle. good luck

What woud make the breaks lock up 1989

That's such a safety issue. Pencil in a repair date and take your car in for a complete inspection of the brake system.

Manufacturers, at least a lot of them, used a split diagonal brake system lay- out, meaning two separate brake systems, one for the left front and right rear, and one for the right front and left rear. Thinking was, in the event of brake failure, only one system went bad, but the other brake system would still work, with brakes on both front and rear of car, but diagonally, see...it was a safety feature of the time. If you have two brake fluid reservoirs, you have a split brake system, whether split front system with disc brakes and rear system (a smaller reservoir) for drum brakes, or split diagonally as I described.

Nonetheless, both systems work off the same brake master cylinder. I would want a brake specialist to inspect the whole brake system, especially if it has anti-lock brakes. Somebody needs to test all that old, old stuff.

Brake warning light and charging system warning light came on simultaneously. Now van has no throttle response under load.

What is the question?

I assume you have no vehicle
experience or service manuals

No one can diagnose a vehicle over the internet

You need a repair shop

Brake service procedures

"Step by step brake service" is quite vague and could cover a very broad spectrum. There is a LOT involved in brake service, especially on a 2005 Cadillac CTS which has computerized brake control systems. I could help you if you are having trouble with a specific part of performing a brake service, but it is not practical to post all that is involved in brake service for your vehicle. For that type of information, I would recommend that you either purchase a service manual for your vehicle, or subscribe to an online automotive diagnostic and service information system like alldatadiy.com., where for a small anual fee, you will have access to the same PROFESSIONAL service information that I would use if you brought your Cadillac to my shop for repair.

20000 GMC Jimmy brake light came on, someone told us it's the booster. Is this the same as the master cylinder or something different. Also where is it located?

don`t just change parts because someone told you to without checking it out first.with the brake light on check the fluid level in the master cylinder if its down check the float in the cylinder as these will get stuck.also check for fluid leaks in the entire brake system and condition of the brakes themselves as when they wear especially the disc brakes the fluid will go down as the brake fluid takes up the worn brake material so the calipers don`t have to move as far to apply the brakes.the master cylinder is the component that holds the brake fluid under the hood that you would top up if low.the brakes booster is what the master is bolted to and gives the car power brakes as opposed to manual brakes.

ABS light is showing on the dashboard.

Your brakes will still work; however, your anti-lock braking system (ABS) won't. This is especially dangerous in the winter (especially if you've noticed it activate often when you brake) and should be checked by a garage.

My ABS light stays on what could be the problem?

Your Anti-Lock-Brake system has a problem. If it has failed completely, your brakes will lock up if you brake hard enough to cause a skid. The system is designed to send a pulse through the brake system in order to prevent skidding during hard braking. The system is very important to have working properly especially in icy or wet conditions. Go get it checked ASAP.
