Question about 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD

1 Answer

Drivers side window is stuck down, there is no motor noise or any other sound when the button is activated. The window has stuck before but the window did not go all the way down. Thus I was able lift the window up a bit and then used the button would to shut the window. The window would work properly for long time. But this time the window went all the way down into the door. Can you show me a diagram to remove the inside door panel?

Take off all the screws, one is hidden near mirror, and loose retainers with a big screw driver. Normally we cure the problem with a kit that includes the motor and cables. Take a picture of the existing cable before you disassemble it …

Windows won't go down on an 98 Buick regal. Replaced main switch and window motor on the driver side.

Verify that you are getting voltage to the window switch when the ignition key is ON. If not, check the fuse, and verify that you do not have any broken wires in the door jamb boot. If you ARE getting voltage to the switch, try activating the switch and see that you get power to the motor. If you do not, suspect miswired switch or broken wire to motor. If you do, is the motor making noise? If not, it is likely bad. If it is, your regulator is stuck or the window is simply stuck in its track.

Driver side window came off track

it is not off track. the grinding or metal scratching noise is from the window regulator cable that has broke off from the plastic idler pulley on regulator and is now wound up on the motor. you need a new window regulator.

Back drivers side window is stuck down

Could be almost anything from window motor to wires to relay to window button. You could start at the window button and test power to motor, then eliminate relay until you find where power is out. If power is going to window motor and it does not work, its a bad motor.

Glass shops can fix this for you.

ford has an advantage and a curse to thier window buttons. you can disassemble and clean the contacts(I would have a student with electrical background do this) then reassemble it carefully and it will work if contact points are not fried.

Sound like a window switch.
If you didn't hear any mechanical noises from window before it happened , most likly - switch. If noises were present , might be window regulator or a motor.

325Ci Coupe Driver Window stuck in down position. There is a clicking noise when i attempt to roll up the window

E46's are known to have issues with their window regulators (motors), though if you're hearing a clicking noise I would think it's not the motor but perhaps the window itself off the track.

It may seem freaky, but it's quite easy to take off the panel at your window and investigate.

Here's a link to a DIY (Do it yourself) guide on how to open the panel. It's a guide to replace the regulator, but it also shows step-by-step how to take off the panel so you can look at the track.

Driver side Power Window

it sounds like a motor problem and the motor is the most likely, usualy it is just stuck, if you can open the doorpanel and tap on the motor while driving the switch should solve the problem. and the switch should be able to pry out without demoumting the panel.
