Two things come to mind: 1) A frozen ball joint in the steering arm, 2) A defective steering rack. Make sure power steering fluid is topped, if you hear a whining noise while turning.

Toyota solara engine knocking and car cutting off

Meloe77, there's a high possibility you have a mechanical failure inside the engie causing the knocking sound. (Check the oil?)
The reason for shutting off is because the knock sensor can hear it, and the powertrain control module (PCM, herefore) is trying to detune the engine to eliminate the sound, (as if it were caused by bad gasoline.) The fact that there is a mechanical knocking sound, means that the sound cannot be eliminated by detuning of fuel or spark mapping, therefore it starves for fuel and/or spark causing the engine to stop running.
My recommendation: Have the vehicle TOWED to a reputable mechanic and ask him if its possible that I'm right.

I have a 03 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi 4X4 that is making a very loud knocking sound in the frontend when I turn left, or right.

check the cv axles at the front differential. inner joints get loose on the splines and cause a knocking noise.

I have a knocking sound on the passenger side under my car, I'm not sure what it is and is there any treatment to stop it or my options

There are a few things it could be Ahmad. It could be a loose break pad or a bad hub. It may be a tie rod knocking. This is your most likely cause, but a few things will cause noises. If it happens when you turn to the right, it may be a bad bearing. You could have axle damage. The only way to tell is by jacking up the car and taking a look. Having a Haynes Manual is a great way to learn and do your own work. You can get them from Autozone or a part store. I would check the tie rod first because they make a distinct knocking sound. If you have a question, let me know. I am here to help. Ahmad, thanks for using FixYa.

Knocking when i turn right, was told it was cv joint, so changed right handside as thats the side all the noise comes from, but still not stopped knocking. have i changed the wrong side, or is it something...

yes you changed the wrong side if it knocks when you turn right its the left side because turning right shifts all the wait on the left side and puts a load on the joint causing it to knock

I have a 1991 Subaru Legacy right hand drive wagon. I put in a new front axle assembly and I still have a knocking sound. Everything I have read with that sound says it is the cv joint. Someone told me it...

A CV joint - when going bad - is more of a clicking sound.. Not so much a knocking sound.. And tends to get louder when turning & accelorating..

Hope this helps !!

Rod knock, water pump leak, clicks but wont turn over

A noisy water pump will eventually cause problems. Before it shattes insde the cooling system, causes overheatinig,& other problems, get rid of it.It may have to do with the "no start" but as for the slow windows and other issues that sounds like battery or ignition. One step at a time.
