You either have a blocked oil line or a blown head gasket blocking the oil line. Check the oil for any signs of white residue. This is a sign of a headgasket leak or break up. Good luck!

My 1996 dodge grand caravan back lifters are dry and not getting oil. heavy knocking. What could be the problem?

Dear Knocking,
It is a very very well possibility that you simply have "sludge" built up inside galley oil passages. The simpliest way to start off with this would be to install a motor flush chemical and let it run for about 20 minutes at idle, then drain the oil and install new, with filter.hile installing the new oil add an additive called "Seafoam" it's in a white can, use it per directions for the crankcase oil, start the vehicle and put a few to 50 miles on it, see where that places you, you should be impressed with the results. If that does not cure the carbon sludge build up, then it is an oil pressure problem.Get back to me if ya have anymore question, I'M HERE TO HELP!!!
