Usually caused by excessive valve guide clearance. Have new inserts installed or could possibly get by with knurling the guides. Hve a mechanic pull the heads and check for excessive guide clearance.

Correct procedure for changing timing belt on Legnum gdi wagon '97

You do not need a little advice from an online auto repair blog, you need a SERVICE MANUAL. I would recommend purchacing a service manual for your vehicle at your local parts retailer or subscribe to online service information on a professional automotive service information provider such as alldatadiy.com

The small fee will be well worth the investment.

I have a 98 mitsibishi chariot grandis gdi, it smokes badly while warming up but then gets less while driving. The smoke is bluish white.

I think it is blue oil smoke that you are describing, indicating internal engine wear of piston rings and/or valve guides leaking excessive oil.

Usually, this occurs to high mileage vehicles, or vehicles which haven't had regular oil changes every 3,000 mi. for the life of the engine.

I need a Car Manual for a 1998 Mitsubishi Legnum Viento GDI

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will have to buy one.,........unfortunately to provide one free and in its entire form, would be breaching copyright and therefore carries a few fines, that none of the experts would like to pay for.....

However, if you have a specific problem that we could help you with, please do not hesitate to post a further question.

Sorrry for the bad news..!!!

97 Mitsubishi legnum, runs great but takes a bit to start, thought it might be fuel pump relay as you can,t hear pump start when key is turned on, is that normal for legnums.

Hi,
is your car a GDI engine? If it is GDI you can't really hear the pump working when you put ign on.
Give me some details and I might be able to guide you there.
Chassis, engine numbers, GDI ??

Fuel pump relay

Is your car a GDI or MPI? If it's a GDI version the relay is located on the firewall left hand side under the bonnet. If it's a MPI then the relay is in the fuse box near the battery.
Cheers
