SOURCE: no power to fuel pump. I have power up to the circuit opening relay.

I am not positive how the electronics are routed on a later model truck but I had this same problem on my 89' with a 22re. It turned out that the oil pressure sending unit was in the fuel pump circuit so as to not allow the engine to start with no oil pressure. I changed my sending unit and the truck fired right off. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Toyota

Im not positive on how to check the relay but to check to see if the fuel pump is atleast turning on ou turn the key to the on position but do not start and have a friend listen under the car to see if the pump turns on. It will make a "whirring" sound. Hope this gets you on the right track!

Toyota Tacoma fuel problem

Check the following:
- Listen to the fuel pump noise under the fuel tank.
- Starter signal.
- EFI relay, under the hood fuse and relay box.
- Fuel pump operation and pressure.
- Regulating valve.
- Circuit Opening Relay (COR) under the dash.
- Check for open in harness and connector between circuit opening relay and fuel pump, and fuel pump and body ground

Hope that works. Thank you for visiting Fixya.

Where is the fuel cut-off switch for 97 tacoma

Only Ford products have inertia switches for fuel pumps.
If your pump is not running, you will need to check the fuse and relay to see if the pump is getting power.

1997 Toyota Tacoma 4 WD 4 cyl. Where is the fuel pump relay.

It should be under the driver's dash to the left of the steering column. The Haynes manual recommends you first remove the lower finish panel on that side for access. Haynes calls the fuel pump relay the "circuit opening relay."

I have a 1997 Tacoma with 240,000 miles. I have never had any issues other than the normal wear and tear issues. However, it now will not start. It's not the starter or battery, just will not turn over,...

It could be the fuel filter, fuel pump, or even the fuel relay. First check the fuel pressure using a fuel pressure meter. You will disconnect ond of the fuel lines in the engine and connect the meter. If there is no pressure at all, check the fuel relay in the fuse box engine compartment. See if wiggle it or reinserting it can get the fuel pump to work. If not you will need to replace it.

If you are getting fuel pressure and it is low, normally we replace the fuel filter. It is a cannister looking device connected in the fuel lines underneath the car. It goes in only one way according to the arrow. It is clamped to the framd and usually only clipped onto the fuel lines very tightly. You can use a scredriver to remove the clips.

If that doesn't solve the problem then you will need to replace the fuel pump. First pull out the fuel pump relay to depressurize your fuel system. Then replace the fuel pump by removing all bolts and disconnecting from the fuel line.

Not getting power to the fuel pump, replaced the relay, could the problem be in the ECU.

NO. is the fuse good? is power getting TO the relay? if power is at the relay, you should be able to bypass the relay and feed power directly to the pump. If you are sure there is no power to pump, then the wire has an open between the relay and the pump.

I have a 99 tacoma with no power to fuel pump, fuses are good, power to relay and have swapped relays, but I don't have any power to the fuel pump. Is there some type of inertia switch?

Look to see if you have power at pin 1 of the circuit opening relay. The C.O. Relay is what powers the fuel pump. If you have power there (a blue wire), you have an open circuit between the relay and the pump.

96 Tacoma 4x4 2.7 engine cuts out randomly, like its trying to get air or fuel. just installed cold air intake, full tune up, fuel filter, mass air flow sensor, battery cable, hoses, tps(sensor), and...

dont look for air when the car cuts out its most likley spark or fuel when it cuts out ranomly its usually a sensor or relay that is faulty check fuel pump relay and camshaft or crankshaft sensors but first narrow it down to spark or fuel if possible also if check engine lite is on check codes
