If none of the power buttons on your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix are working, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few possible causes and solutions: Fuses - There may be a blown fuse related to the power windows or door locks. Check the fuse box and replace any fuses that are blown.Relay - There may be a relay that controls the power windows or door locks that is faulty. A mechanic will need to diagnose and replace the relay if necessary.Wiring - There may be a problem with the wiring that connects the buttons to the power windows or door locks. A mechanic will need to diagnose and repair or replace any damaged wiring.Switch - The switch that controls the power windows or door locks may be faulty. A mechanic will need to diagnose and replace the switch if necessary.Body Control Module (BCM) - The BCM (Body Control Module) may be faulty which controls the power windows and door locks, and other features on the vehicle. A mechanic will need to diagnose and replace the BCM if necessary. It's important to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose the problem and perform the necessary repairs. Some of the issues can be easy to fix, but some require more extensive repairs and knowledge of the systems.
if there is a pause from when the motor starts to when the window moves it is a worn or faulty window regulator, the motor not starting when you press the up on the switch could be a bad switch, if you have a meter check for voltage at the switch when you press up.
Each window has its own motor. If NONE are working, check the switch. The YELLOW wire should be HOT. 12V its on a 30 amp circuit breaker. Unusual to lose ALL the windows, unless the switch is bad OR no power to the switch. The other windows get power through the main window switch
These are two separate issues. The most common cause of the clicking is the hazard switch located above the radio.Replacing this generally takes care of that issue occassionally it is a malfunction in the turn signal switch but most likely the hazard switch. If all windows are affected would check fuses first. If the windows roll down from the corresponding switches example rf allows rf to roll down. If not suspect an electrical issue such as fuse or relay. If they do roll down from the switches on the doors but not the drivers door possible a master switch issue.Drivers door contains a master switch that controls all windows.Do the windows work at all?
Well if none of your windows work more then likely it is a master window switch witch would be the one big switch on your drivers front door. Have you tried using the switch on the other doors to see if any of the windows work? If none of the switches work try checking the fuses and relay's first. A fuse or relay is easy and less then $20 for the part and you can do yourself just read the fuse box to locate the part. If you need a master switch call a junk yard the switch can be less then $80 there just pay someone a few dollars to install it. If the problem only related to single window then it sounds like the window motors are bad. On average, the price of a reconditioned window motor (check O'reilly or Autozone) installed on that car is about $150-$200 per window. Please post comments if you need more help or information.........
try replacing the master switch it maybe malfunctioning due to wear.or may have shorted out by getting wet or something.since it is the primary control for all windows and power door locks.
