I do not know, this I did not know about, but most likely the fuel filter, and the fuel pump screen in the fuel tank on the fuel pump, along with the old fuel.

Gets gas gets spark but don't start. new fuel

1. does it turn over? if so, strong, or weak? 2. did you replace the fuel filter? 3. coil packs, or distributor (pack(s) can be tested) if distributed check cap and rotor, replace coil, but first check starter relay - 4. Check all ignition fuses, starter fuse - (along with relay{above}) 5. Check all connections from battery - positive, negative etc.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a 2005 gti that has been sitting for 1 year in a field. It will crank over fine with the new battery. Won't start. Took hose off the end of the fuel log and cranked it. No fuel. Tank has 1/2 full...

Bad fuel pump, clogged filter or bad fuel pressure regulator. If you put starting fluid in the intake, does it start up? Your fuel pump should start running as soon as you turn the key to "on" You only had to crank over older engines to pump the fuel. They used to use crankshaft driven fuel pumps back in the day, but now they are all electric. Since they are electric, it should have a fuse, and a relay associated with it. Check fuse and see if relay pulls in when key is switched to 'on'.

I warmed it up and drove maybe one block and everything shut off, barley coasted off the road. next day it started right up so i let it warm up again, drove maybe 2 blocks and everything shut off again....

The fuel filter may have got to the end of it's life and will need to be replace. Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The filter should be replaced 15,000 mile or once a year to ensure that the fuel system is running 100%. Good luck and keep me posted.

02 caviler.. cranks but will not start.. have replaced crank sensor, fuel relay sensor.ignition module as well as spark plug module... and replaced battery

Squirt starting fluid in intake and try to start if it starts and then dies you have a fuel delivery problem. Make sure you check the fuses for a blown fuse namely fuel pump or fuelpump relay. If it doesnt start after squirting starting fluid in the intake check for spark at the plug wires and coil.

I try to start my car. All the lights comes on so I know that the battery is good. But the starter isn't engaging.

Fords use starter trelays and generally mount them on the left fender under the hood.If you follow the batt+ cable it will take you straight to it.Find a jumper cable and touch the cable from the battery to the cable on the other side of the relat.your mototor will crank. Then, with some in the car, have that person attenpt to crank and start.. If syll nothing, Jump the pterminal from the battery yo the little post on the relay. That little wire comes from your key. zwhen you jump it, have the ignition on and in park. If still nothing, check the negative battery cable. Remove, clean and reinstall snugly

2001 SL2 1.9 litre will not start am showing no fire at any of the plugs when I try to arc to ground?????? Is this the coil or something else????

first of all check all of the fuses there will be a crank fuse to allow the car to start if something such as a wire has gotten too close to the motor it may have burnt through causing a short on the other hand is the battery charged and are cables corroded ,,if so clean them for proper contact as well as check a;; fluid levels as some vehicles are equipped with this feature not allowing it to start to reduce the risk of engine damage so check all fluids oil and coolant brake transmission especially for proper levels also make sure the vehicle is fully engaged into park ..but check the fuses for being good 1st then move on to next few steps
