It is most likely a bad injector, the lean code is affirming the problem.

Put some BG 44k fuel injector cleaner in ur gas tank and a bottle of Napa Thermo-Aid to the same tank of gas. Your engine light will be gone in a couple of hours if you drive about 10 miles extra during your day.

Misfire on Cylinder 3 swapped plugs between 3 and 4 on Pontiak Aztek 2003. Misfire remained on cylinder 3. Swapped ignition coil 3 and 6 with ignition coil 1 and 4 misfire still on cylinder 3

Spark Plug swapping is a waste of time

You may never have a failed plug in 70 years
of driving

Now you move on to professional help

You could have failed valves, failed intake gasket
or other issues

My 1996 Taurus when I press the gas pedal when cold it sputters and lacks power. When it warms up it runs great.

Possible causes - Faulty spark plug 5
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 5
- Faulty ignition coil 5
- Fuel injector 5 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 5 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 5 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 5 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 5 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

The P0305 code means that the cylinder 5 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 5. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes

When is the code detected? Engine Cylinder 5 is Misfiring.

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Where is the ignition module located on an BMW 325i 2001?

Failed ignition coils

The ones you replaced may not be the issue

Any coil can fail when it wants to

Have to look at cylinder misfire counts on scan tool,
use a scope, walk new coils, whatever it takes to find the
bad ones

These codes are making me lean towards the ignition coil pack.My stepson's 2001 Sable 3.0 v6 had one cylinder misfiring(5-code P0305),which shares a coil with cylinder 1(code P0301).I diagnosed it by trading wire 1 and 5 at the coil, and the code changed to P0301.You have codes for the two cylinders on the same coil,so this is most likely it.(these codes would also trigger P0300(Multiple Misfires Detected) and P0316(Misfire Detected First 1000 Revs)).

Misfire on cylinder 4 & 5. combustion miss with cylinder cutout.

the best way to diagnose a misfire is to move the ignition coils of those cylinders(4 and 5) to different cylinders to see if the misfire will move. you can also move the injectors around and even the spark plugs.(make sure to keep a good record of where you are moving them). if you can't get the misfires to change cylinders. your next step would be to do a compression check on all cylinders. air leaks in the intake system can cause misfires but usually it isn't on the same cylinders all the time

This is a pretty common problem. I would change your valve cover gaskets. They run around ~ 50 bucks. If they are bad it will leak oil into spark plug well and cause a misfire. Very known on the 740.. Also if tune was not anytime not too long ago id change spark plugs while you at it. Then clear the computer and if you still get misfire on 8 try changing the ignition coil which is right about the cylinder with cylinder ignition coil 5. clear the computer. if you get random misfire and misfire cyclinder 5 after then its your ignition coil. parts store runs around 100 bucks
