Sure, I can help you with that. Here are a few things you can check to see why the steering column on your Grasshopper Junior golf buggy is not staying vertical: Make sure that the locating bolt at the base of the column is tightened all the way. Check for any loose or damaged components in the steering column assembly. Make sure that the steering wheel is properly aligned. If you have checked all of these things and the steering column is still not staying vertical, you may need to take the buggy to a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair. Here are the steps on how to tighten the locating bolt at the base of the steering column on a Grasshopper Junior golf buggy: Locate the locating bolt at the base of the steering column. Use a wrench to tighten the locating bolt clockwise until it is snug. Do not overtighten the locating bolt, as you may strip the threads. Test the steering column to make sure that it is staying vertical. Loose steering column in 1989 pontiac bonneville, i took off the steering wheel but that's as far as i can go. my email is

Is it a tilt if so you have to go farther down the column so you can get to the 3 screws that tighten the upper collar so it will not be loose and wiggle if this is your problem. good luck

Steering wheel shaft is loose in column. I removed the steering wheel to replace ignition switch that went ok but when all back together, wheel has about a half inch of play all the way around.

Don't know exactly what you mean, but the steering wheel is tapered and has splines. You sort of wiggle it as you put it on, in order to ensure the splines line up. Then you tighten down the center nut. In which case it can't possibly wiggle.

The shift lever on the column has became loose, thus making it difficult to tell wether in park or what position

Check on the bottom of the steering column, Have someone wiggle shifter and see if the 2 retainer bolts are loose before you go buy a bunch of bushings...

I have a 1981 Corvette with tilt steering wheel. The steering wheel has started flopping like something is loose in the steering column. Whats going on? Thanks Jim

You must remove the steering cowl below the steering wheel and see what is loose, broken or worn. It more likely to be a loose bolt, in which case just tighten it and refit the cowl.
Hope that helps

Key will turn to start in my 1994 K1500

This solution more than likely will require internal steering column inspection.First make sure the entire steering column is not loose. If you can move the steering wheel w/column from side to side or up and down more than 1/2 inch it's loose.Sometimes the key will engage while wiggling the steering column. There are 3 torx bolts deep inside the column that need tightening.Second, the Ignition key cylinder may be bad and need replacing

I have a 1973 Camaro with the factory tilt steering column and it's starting to get loose. What does it take to fix this? Are there any part breakdown diagrams?

if you can, pull steering wheel, steering lock wheel(spring compressor needed, from auto parts store, free) pull signal switch (three screws) out far enogh to see tilt mechinizm, there are three black bolts to be tightened, if you wiggle the tilt column you should see them loose, a small socket will fit star shaped bolt heads

Shifter sloppy, having trouble getting it into gear.

There is a bracket with two torx screws that gets loose. You need to tighten that. You will need to remove the plastic and metal shield under the dash, above the brake pedal to see the bracket. Look up above the brake pedal and wiggle the the shift lever and you will see what needs tightened. Worked for me.
