2004 cadillac cts has the traction control light keeps coming on when i hit a bump,and it stalls when it comes on and i have press down on the gas for it to go!i had the car checked and it was fine they said my tires are to big and thats why its doin it.so...how can i turn off the traction control?and will turning it off stop it from stalling when i hit a bump?

My son has this same car with the same problem. So far after tune up and other process of illimination, the problem points to the catalytic converter. If it is clogged you will get this problem with the rough idle and stalling. Look under the car at night after running it and see if the catalytic glows red. If so you need a new one. Check the bolts on your fuel pump, make sure they're tight. Might also check ALL of the rubber pieces in your fuel line( and there are quite a few) for cracks.

It sounds like it may be time for a new fuel filter, try replacing the fuel filter first. The filter has a life of 30,000 miles or one year, if it has not been changed, good chance that it's the fuel filter. Take not that a dirty fuel filter will make your fuel pump run hotter and will shorten the life of the fuel pump which is the more costly repair of the two.
