Right before the evaporator, but there are dangers involved with this repair, and LEGAL exposure..

This job requires special tools and special training. If you lack either, you risk SERIOUS personal injury. Injury comes VERY EASILY!

You need to address oil levels, proper and legal refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and recharge.

You were planning to also replace the receiver/dryer, correct? It also needs the oil in it measured and incorporated into the amount of oil (in %) that would need to be added. FAILURE to address these and other issues will guarantee premature system failure and likely compressor damage.

Take this job to a qualified shop.

Sorry

Chevy malibu 2005 3.5 a/c orface tube location

Yours has a

thermal expansion valve (TXV). no orifice tube . look at fire wall where the a/c pipes go in look for this part .

The thermal expansion valve is located in the liquid line between the condenser and the evaporator. The thermal expansion valve is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the thermal expansion valve, the pressure of the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential of the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the thermal expansion valve. The thermal expansion valve also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.

Where is orface tube on 88 f150

It is at the inlet to the AC evaporator core on the passenger side of the firewall under the hood. This would be the small AC line to the evaporator core that must come off, you will need a spring retainer tool to remove the line and most likely a fixed orifice tool to extract the old one, DO NOT DASMAG THE INLET TUBE TO THE CORE!

AC runs for a few miles, then says it's low on freon and the compressor kicks off. It is not low on freon and I had a mechanic working on it for months. New compressor, dryer, orface tube, etc. Can you...

What is the pressure when the compressor running? should be between 25-35 PSI no more then that cause it wont get cold and might even say low on freon.

I have a '95 Bronco Eddie Bauer with the 5.8L in it. The Ac blows strong but only puts out air. I checked the r-134A and it reads full (reading 42psi). Any ideas what might be wrong?

I WHOULD CHECK MY LOW AND HIGH SIDE PRESSURES WITH A/C ON AND COMPRESSER INGAGED LOW SIDE SOULD BE AT 30-35 AND THE HIGH SIDE SHOULD BE AT 250 OR SO. IF YOUR HIGH SIDE IS HIGHER THEN THAT AND MORE AROUND 325-350 THAT MEANS YOU HAVE A INTERNAL PROBLEM. IF SO CHECK THE ORFAC LOCATED INSIDE THE SMALL LINE THAT GOES TO THE DRYER.DISCONNECT THE LINE FROM THE DRYER AND PULL THE OLD ORFAC OUT WITH A PAIR OF NEEDLE NOISE PLIERS IF ALL BLACK AND GUMED UP YOU MUST INSTALL NEW COMP.DRYER AND ORFAC MAKE SURE TO CLEAN OUT ALL LINES AVAPORATER CONDINSER.PULL VACUUM ON SYSTEM FULL WITH RECOMMENED OIL AND 134-A AND ENJOY THE COLD A/C.

I have an 2001 impala v 6 and I cannot find the orface valve

trace the steel tube from the condenser on passenger side you will see a tube with a nut on it and a sw-egged about 3 inch's long loosen the nut pull the tube apart and use a pair of needle nose to pull the orifice tube out, if it is dirty replace it also replace the receiver dryer at the same time.
