Process for changing 2001 Chevrolet Suburban surpentine belt

See diagram posted on radiator housing or download picture from internet site.

Use wrench, or hand, to pull/push slack adjuster away from old belt.
Place new belt around all pulleys except the slack adjuster
Pull slack adjuster to slack position and place belt onto it.

Mine is so easy to move that I can move it w/o any tools just with my hand.

Is it just cranking but won't start? Just clicking? Also, have you made sure the belt was installed correctly?

Need to know how to put a serpentine belt on a 1995 302 ford motor

Below the altenator is a tensioning pully, insert a 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole on the tensioner and release the tension on the surpentine belt and remove the belt. Route the new surpentine belt in place up to the altenator and take the tension off the tensioner and put the belt over the altenator pully. Double check to make sure the belt is riding correctly on all the pullies before starting. Crank the engine over several times before starting to seat the belt. f78f558.jpg

I need to find a diagram for a timing belt for a 1995 isuzu rodeo. I purchased the belt but am having trouble getting it placed on correctly.

We are talking about the Timing Belt and not the Drive/Surpentine Belt?

For the Timing Belt: CLICK on the following Link. It has all the Diagrams you will need for the Timing Belt.

How to replace surpentine belt

Unless you have a little experience working on cars this could be tough. There should be a picture of the belt routing somewhere under the hood. The tricky part is the tensioner, it has to be pulled up to get the old belt off and the new one on. It should have a square hole in it, I use a 3/8 drive long handled breaker bar to fit in the hole and pull up on the tensioner.Have patients and good luck.

How to tighten surpentine belt tensioner on tdi beetle

The tensioner can not be tighten, if it is no longer have the tension, it needs to be replaced, If you just tried replacing the serpentine belt and there is no tension on the belt, you installed the belt the wrong way through the pulleys or they gave you the wrong size belt. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help
