Have you checked the engine cooling fan yet? if not that, then you may need to buy a can of radiator flush @ flush the radiator. sometimes gunk builds up in the radiator and reduces the coolant flow resulting in overheating. also if that fans not running try checking your fuses @ also the ralays under the hood in the black box. hope this helps!!

Whats causing car to keep running hot?

Change your thermostat then it will run at the right temp. Unless you have a cracked head or a blown head gasket

Coolant fan not coming on hyundai xg 350

Generally when there is 2 electric fans one is controlled by the engine control module and the coolant temp sensor for maintaining engine temperature and the other is controlled by the air conditioning control module used when the a/c is in operation. If engine temp starts to get near the red then both fans come on at high speed. If you want to make sure the other fan works though then just put 12vdc to it directly and see if spins. For it running hot I would replace the thermostat if it has never been done and replace the coolant. Put in a 50/50 mix.

Saab 9000 running hot what temperature should it be

These fans should not be running continually. Make sure thermostat is not stuck. Test temp sensors and fan relay if fans on and engine is not hot. If hot. Check or replace thermostat. should not be more than 160

My temperature gauge has been fluctuating since summer began

Sounds like your electric fan is not coming on. First check the fan fuse and relay and switch. If all good run a hot jumper wire to fan motor and see if it comes on.if not get a replacement fan motor. If fan is working normally then i would flush the system and replace the thermostat.

Driving with air on gauge goes up and runs hot to red line. flip to heat gauge goes down. start car up after sitting for hours, let idel for 1hour with air on ok,start to drive with air on gauge goes up and...

Did you flush the radiator when you replaced thermostat too? Sounds like it's clogged and the coolant is not circulating as it should. It probably needs to be rodded out or replaced by now.
Check your cooling fans for proper operation. Make sure the outside of the radiator & condensor are clean, and not full of bugs & debris...I hope this helps.

Not sure. My jeep runs a bit hot. Have replaced the thermostat and checked electric fan. Ran cool for about two hours on the highway then started running a bit hot again. (just under the red on gage). How...

You really can't get a positive test with the clutch fan because it reacts with heat. I would just replace it. Not sure of the mileage, year or engine type, this info would help. Another area to suspect is the radiator, they too are only good for a certain amount of time depending on mileage.

My car runs hot

Yes, thermostat could be closed shut. Thermostats are pretty cheap and easy to replace. If the car has never had one replaced, I'd start there..

Temperature gauge

no,not "into"red, but close to it. if it goes to red,you might have a failing thermostat. let me xplain. -a failing thermostat will either make your motor run too hot,or too cold,(the temp you see on your dash is for the motor)
NOW,you also have a temp sensor for the radiator fan, which is on the radiator.
SO,if the motor thermostat isnt opening, the rad' isnt getting the hot water(to cool off),in turn, the fan will come on later!!(hotter)
in conclusion,replace the engine thermostat,(it's cheap$$)

ok well there must be a blockage in the radiator if u cahnged the thermostat or bleed the system that means take of the radiator cap and run the car 15 minitues till all the air bubbles come out and also make sure all your cooling fans are working
