Only but back what you think is lost, try and estimate in oz. if you are fixing a leak, and recharging the system. You do not want too much oil in the system as that will hurt its cooling capacity. The compressor dry will take approz 4.o 0z. oil.

transfer case seals blown
even axle seals or gearbox seals
wont know till you look underneath

transfer case may be ok if not run without oil

just turn it out of the valve cover some dont have threads then you just pull it out

I hahe oil in the throttle body on a 96 s-10 blazer. rebuild or is it something simple to fix? help


To start out....clean throttle body first and replace PCV valve...drive it around for a few weeks...check again...it should be either still clean or same...if same..have to find out where Oil is coming from...im sure tho this will fix problem

The general amount in the instructions state to drain the old compressor and if under 2 ounces then add 2 ounces if there is more then 2 ounces then add what you took out of the old compressor.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Have you checked the low side and high side pressures? The compressor might be bad. Does one line to the compressor get cold and the line coming out get hot?

Just purchased vehicle and don't have an owners manuel for maintaince specs.


Haynes manual 24071 covers the new style S-10, Sonoma, Blazer and Jimmy. It will give you all specs for the motor, transmission, and any other options. I have a '91 S-10 and a '96 Jimmy. All specs from Oil Type, Transmission fluid type, and the weight of gear oil needed are included. It also offers step by step instructions on how to perform most repairs and tourque specs on almost all bolts. Good luck and wise choice on vehicles.

Cant find oil filter on 1991 chevy s10 blazer


i had a 96 so it may be different... there was a "remote" oil filter under the plastic skid plate just behind the front bumper... it took a flat screwdriver to open an access panel.... just a quarter turn of he screw and the door would open... hope this helps.... let me know... i can keep looking if it doesnt

96 blazer power seat stopped working?


there is a orange wire on the seat connector. follow it under the floor mat just under where you put your feet down . that gets corroded and breaks loose. fixed mine twice in 10 years and still working
