I have a 93 town car, just replaced the suspension air dryer, Had to jump start the car to test suspension sys, let the car run for about 30 min to charge battery. Let car sit for the afternoon went to drive it that evening & it would start then cut out right away. I mean as soon as it starts it stops. Trying to give it fuel makes no difference. I tried disconnecting & reconnecting battery. Did a visual for loose connectors & vacuum lines. No Change. Any ideas? Please?!

I am not saying to drive the car with the Airride OFF, but go into the trunk before starting your car and turn the Airride off and see if it makes a difference. The Airride may still not be right or the drain on your Battery from the Airride is too great to keep the engine running when the Battery is low.

When you try to start it you should hear the fuelpump kick on. If you do not hear it perhaps the Inertia switch in the Trunk next to the Airride switch was bumped or switched off. Push the Inertia switch button before trying to start your car.

Air suspension 93 lincoln town car

Not really.
The air bags act as replacement or extra coil springs to hold the car up.
You might be able to replace them with coil springs from a Crown Vic.
That may cause problems with the front air bags and the rest of the system.

Air suspension light stays on my 95 Lincoln town car.but everything seems to be working fine. How do I reset?

In the trunk of the car on the drivers side, there should be an on/off switch for your air ride. while your car is off, turn the switch to the off position. Next start the car and let it run for a few min and turn off. go back and push the air ride switch to the on position. the next time you start the vehicle it should be reset.

Trying to find a wiring diagram for air compressor. Rear air ride is out compressor not running at all checked fuses just replaced relay .

I know that you are trying to fix that air ride, but i put these replacement springs on my 93 towncar. Fixed the compressor problem (eliminated it) and cost a whole lot less. The install is kinda hard if you've never dropped a rear end before. Need a good tool set, a couple jacks, and jack stands to get it done. Check it out. Even having a mechanic install them would be cheaper than replacing a compressor.

Air suspension is up in rear of car. how do I

If I'm understanding the question correctly, the problem is the rear is stuck in the "jacked up" position. If you start the car and after a short while the check suspension message comes on, most likely the problem is a rusted corroded vent solenoid in the compressor. When this solenoid sticks closed, the air can't vent to the atmosphere. Keep in mind this problem is a very common one and the root cause is excessive moisture in the system. While replacing the compressor/dryer would get it working normally again, if the moisture problem isn't addressed, the replacement compressor WILL BE short lived as well. RECAP: Short term....replace the compressor/dryer. Long Term....replace the compressor/dryer, then in 30 days replace the dryer only....then again in 6 months. Want to be done it those problems forever? Do a Lincoln Town Car Air Suspension Conversion on your car and be done with those expensive repairs forever!......for less than the cost of a replacement compressor.

Air Suspension system Problem 1990 Lincoln Towncar

Unplugging the Connector will cause the Check Suspension light to come on as its listed as a fault as it cant run.

But with it unplugged the compressor shouldnt been able to start. If you want to kill the compressor pull its relay from the engine bay. located above the battery.

But i'd suggest correcting the fault as if those bags do pop your going to end up being grounded. as the rear will drop a fair bit!

Check air suspension system problem

sounds like one of the rear air bags is leaking and if you get under car and spray with soapy water from spray bottle you can find leak and replace bag or line that is leaking. turning off the pump is not a good idea the rear bags will deflate and cause the car to ride too low and cause damage bottoming out. also if the leak is not fixed soon the air compressor will run too constantly and burn out/wear out and very expansive to replace.

I have a 93 lincoln town car and the battery kept dying on me and I found out it was the air ride suspension and the way to test this is to turn off the switch inside the trunk on the passenger side near the top and if this helps with the problem then it is the air ride suspension
