Hmm maybe it is. Check the fuel pressure. An easy way is to pull off the air cleaner and watch the injectors while you crank it. They should be pulsing fuel out. Of course you have to take the doghouse off and everything. While you are at it you should check for spark at the plugs.. get an old spark plug and plug one of the other plug wires into it. let the metal part of the plug be touching the manifold and crank it over. You should see a bright spark. Those two tests should tell you where the problem is. spark and gas is the biggest part of an engine running or not. of course timing is important as well but rarely does that go out these days.

SOURCE: VAN WONT START

: Sounds like you have attacked the problem pretty well. Check the fuses. Do a "pin" check for power and ground to the ECM. When you replaced the ECM, did you use a new prom? If not, you could have a faulty prom. Check fuel pressure and using a Noid light check the pulse at the injectors. For your information, the injectors will have 12-volts and the computer momentarily grounds them to open the injector.
Your problems may be caused by a faulty ignition switch or starter solenoid.
Intermittent electrical problems are difficult to trace. We would suggest first checking the ignition switch and next the neutral safety switch
You are close to the right track but check the fuel pressure during the no start condition as you may have a faulty fuel pump. You also could have a vehicle speed sensor problem

Sounds like the Gas filter. Fairly easy fix. Locate gas tank. Follow gas line to engine, about half way usually by back door under the car, drivers side, is the small filter. Take a pic of it. Head over to car parts store. Show them what you need. It only takes a wrench and a bucket to catch a little gas.

Is the check engine light on? It sounds like a bad mass airflow sensor.

sounds like a fuel problem, try having someone hit bottom of tank hard a few times while someone is trying to start the van, see if it starts, i think you might have a bad fuelpump start there, good luck.

Engine would not accelerate, now wont start

Sounds like the fuel pump went. Check for power under the van at the gas tank for the fuel pump. You need 2 people to do this, the pump will only power up for 5 secs/key cycle unless the engine is running.

Chevy astro van turns over but wont start when

Check to see if the fuel pump is kicking in,
when you turn the key on without starting the van you should hear it kick on for about 2 seconds,

It could be...
A clogged fuel filter...
Blown fuse for the pump..or bad pump relay..
No gas
Bad fuel pump

Van wont start

Seems like I am drawn to these calls! It sounds crazy, but it is free, so try it! My van did the same thing and I asked a friend who worked for a dealership. Put the key in the driver door and lock and unlock it at least 5 times. It should reset the "Security Lock down" and get you going.
Good luck!
