    Thanks for your response!!

Check the fluid level with the engine running and in park, and see if the fluid looks and smells burnt, it should be a clean pink color.

If you want to replace the fluid, this is how it needs to be done :-

WARNING: Never remove pressure relief cap under any conditions
while engine is operating. Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury and/or damage to cooling system or engine. To avoid burns from scalding coolant or steam, use extreme care when removing pressure relief cap.

    DRAIN

Bring engine to normal operating temperature, then turn engine OFF.
    Drain cooling system as follows:
If cooling system is still hot, carefully wrap thick cloth around pressure relief cap and rotate slowly until pressure begins to release. Step back until pressure is released.
Rotate pressure relief cap until free, then remove cap.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove splash shield from front of front subframe.
Open radiator draincock and drain coolant system, then remove inlet and outlet heater water hoses from heater core.
Carefully use compressed air, blow regulated 10 psi of air pressure into heater core to ensure coolant is drained from core.
    FILL

NOTE: This engine has an aluminum cylinder head and requires a special corrosion inhibiting coolant to avoid cooling system damage. Use only specified coolant in this engine.

    Fill cooling system as follows:
Install all cooling system hoses previously removed, then check all hose clamps for proper tightness.
Ensure radiator draincock is closed, then install splash shield onto front of front subframe and body.
Lower vehicle, then add 50/50 mixture of specified coolant and water into radiator coolant recovery reservoir fill neck until coolant mixture reaches MAX mark on radiator coolant recovery reservoir. Some coolant/water will be retained in cylinder block if cylinder block drain plugs are not removed. When refilling cooling system after flushing, adjust coolant mix ratio to obtain 50/50 mixture. Be certain to account for approximately one quart of water left in cylinder block when drain plugs are not removed.
Install pressure relief cap to radiator coolant recovery reservoir.
    Bleed cooling system as follows:
Select maximum heater temperature and blower motor speed settings, then position control to discharge air at A/C vents in instrument panel.
Start engine and allow to idle. While engine is idling, feel for hot air at A/C vents. Allow to idle until normal operating temperature is reached. Hot air should discharge from A/C vents. Engine coolant temperature gauge should maintain a stabilized reading in middle of NORMAL range and upper radiator hose
    should feel hot to touch.
NOTE: If air discharge remains cool and engine coolant temperature gauge does not move, engine coolant level is low in engine and must be filled. Stop engine, allow to cool and fill cooling system as outlined.

Check engine coolant level in radiator coolant recovery reservoir and fill as necessary. When engine coolant level indicator flashes, approximately 1-1.5 quarts of coolant mixture can be added to radiator coolant recovery reservoir after proper engine coolant system refill.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Regarding location of Dipstick - Dipstick for both the V-6 & I-4 are located at the front near the
radiator. The V-6 will have the dipstick slightly offset toward the
passenger side and very close to the radiator, the I-4 will be more
centrally located & close to the engine.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

On automatics the dip stick tube will be located between the engine and the trans protruding upward. Very few models will have a fill cap on the very top of the transmission.

Where do I check my transmission fluid on my 2005 Hyundai accent 5 speed 4 cyn

There will either be a dip stick marked transmission fluid on the opposite side of the oil dip stick or you will have to do it at the transmission itself. There will be a small dip stick or just simply a bolt halfway up. when the fluid comes out it is full.

Checking transmission fluid

Cars these days have colored dip sticks. One is yellow and one is red. The red one would be your transmission dipstick. Check the transmission with the car running. If you are low. Get a funnel and put it where the dip stick came from and put some transmission fluid in it and put the dip stick back in the hole.

How do you know that you need transmission fluid on a honda accord ex. I looked at the dip stick and saw nothing.

If you looked at the dip stick and saw nothing that is probably a bad sign. Most dip stick have markers on them in order to gauge how much fluid is in the transmission. Look at your dipstick closely and make sure you fill your transmission until it is between these markers. The markers are usually down by the end or tip of the dip stick. Be sure you do not over fill the transmission. I hope this helps you out at least a little.

Where is the trasmission oil located?

The transmission oil is located in the transmission. If you are looking for the dip stick, its on the engine and its written on the top of the stick. Do not mistake the oil dip for the transmission dip stick. It sounds as if you need someone to show it to you. Go to your nearest car parts and they will gladly show you the dip stick. I hope this was helpful.

How to refill oil in transmission for Dodge caravan 1995 (automatic transmission)?

You refill the transmission through the dip stick tube. Make sure you don't over fill the transmission though, that's just as bad as having low transmission fluid levels.

How to check transmission fluid and fill if nessesary.

if it is an automatic transmission, the dip stick is under the hood and should be on the drivers side of the engine, start the car leave it in park, pull the dip stick out and wipe it off with a cloth, reinstall the dip stick in the filler tube completely, and remove again and notice where the fluid level is on the dip stick,if you need to add fluid to bring it up to full, the correct fluid for your car is printed on the dip stick, you need a transmission funnel and put in in the tube you pulled the dip stick out of.
if you transmission is a standard, there is a 5/8 bolt on the side of the transmission you remove and put something like a screw driver in the hole to see where the fluid level is,.

Need to check transmission fluid on my 1999 c180 elegance.can i use engine oil dip stick

No, absolutely not. Check the transmission fluid level with the transmission dip stick. The oil level dip stick may not be the same length and the markings are not the same. Overfilling a transmission may cause damage. Do not have one then you need to get one. What has happened have you lost it?
