Question about 2000 Chrysler Sebring

Open Question

I am unable to resync the keyless entry on my 2000 Sebring convertible by following the instructions in the manual. I have had the sending units check for function and both are working and sending signal.

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like a grounding issue.

You will need a wiring diagram and someone who is good with a multimeter to run it down.

The three systems you identified are all fused from the same location. Which should make running down the bad ground wire a little easier.

Good luck and as always be careful!

If you have two original fobs, I believe you can do it yourself. But the two original fobs must be operating, then you can follow instrucions in the manual in the glove box.

My 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 will not go into program mode to program my keyless entry pads

The security system on Toyota products are added by the distributor in your region. Many of those security systems will not allow more than 4 key fobs to be programmed into them. Have you owned this vehicle since it was new? Have you tried to program more that 4 key fobs into it? Have you tried programming it more than 2 times? If you security system has had more than 4 key fobs programmed in then the only way to get it to reprogram is the replace the security unit with a new one. I found this out the hard way and had to replace mine in my 2000 tundra.

I am trying to use an app on my phone as my keyless entry remote and it asks me foe my cars sim id. what is that? And where can i find it?

For the keyless entry app to work, your car must already have a keyless entry unit installed. You don't say if this is so. I'm guessing the "SIM ID" you are referring to would be the individual electronic code the key fob transmits so every keyless entry fob won't unlock every car in the lot. I've not heard it referred ti as that. If you don't have a keyless entry unit installed, it won't work. If you do and it's a factory unit, you may be able to find it in your owner's manual but I doubt it. At least Ford didn't supply it in mine. If it's an afrter-market "Walmart" special, it may be impossible to obtain You may need to get ahold of your car's manufacturer. If your "SIM ID" actually referrs to something like General Motor's, (cell phone based), On Star system, you're out of luck as Dodge, to my knowledge, has no equivalent. I have only heard of a SIM ID as being associated with cellular phones.
Good luck.
