I would have to say from the valve cover gasket.Basically that's about the only thing right above the depression where it would/could come from.Good luckl! Greg

No spark in the coil now

You need to look up how to replace the valve cover seals

You obviously know you have an oil leak on the plugs

Using a screw driver may have ruined the ignition module,
at least use a spark plug in the cable, when you ground it
Check the other wires for spark

You always find info for doing any testing on electrical or
electronics, were not living in the 1960's any more, bad things happen

Need Valve Cover Gasket Set
Need New Ignition Wires
May as well do the Spark Plugs

The ignition components will sort themselves
out when you do take care of the oil leak, plugs
& wires

2003 Jaguar X Type has p1314,p0300,p1313,,p0303,p0301,p0302,p0305

the fault codes you have are all misfire codes p1313 and p1314 are manufactuer codes only. but they all point to same issue check the engine wiring harness under the air box for chaffing also the on plug coils are very unreliable the spark plug internal resistance is critical use only genuine plugs we had to change all 6 because pattern plugs had been fitted and check for water ingress in to the ecm/connector that may be the problem

I have a 97 thunderbird V6 3.8L that is misfiring in cylinders 2 and 6. I tested all the plug wires at the plug connection with a calibrated tester, there is no spark at the plug. I have changed the plugs,...

Did you replace the coil pack or just verify 12 volt power to it? if both old and new coil packs have the same issue, (no spark on 2 and 6), then the harness to the coil pack has broken wires or bad connection(in the connector itself), or the computer is faulty. I believe each plug wire tower on the coil pack has it's own signal wire in the harness. Understand that the towers are "paired" together.
For example, cylinder layout.... 1 - 2 - 3
4 - 5 - 6
Depending on the firing order and the actual layout of your cylinder's the above layout would mean
1 and 4 get the signal to spark,(at the same time), even though 1 is on its power stroke, and 4 is on its exhaust stroke. Hope this is clear as mud!

Misses only when wet, but this 1.8 has no spark plug wires?? its a1997 susuki sport,, where do i look?

it has on plug coils you need to remove the coils to find the spark plug boots the spark plug bosses may be filled with water or even oil,if their is oil in the plug boss holes your valve cover is leaking the oil into the holes.

I have a 2003 Subaru Baja with 126k. Recently has developed what I thought to be a misfire. When I pulled the spark plugs they were loose and covered with oil. I changed the wires and plugs and still have...

I would replace the filter and verify the fuel pressure. should be 30-40psi but I dontt have the exact spec. The oil in the plug tubes may be caused by leaking valve cover gaskets.

Codes p0722 and p0717 what is the problem?

p0722 stands for output speed sensor, this sensor might be in need of replacement, p0717 is for transmission turbine speed sensor, P0717 code comes with the following symptoms: engine cutting out, misfire and hard start after the engine is warmed up. check the coil plugs which is the equivalent of spark plugs except it does not have any plug wires. Start with the mileage and if the engine has over 100k miles, usually the coil plugs are worn. You can check it by checking the coil plug wells on the valve cover. If soaked with oil, the coil plug is normally shot and this goes the same for the valve cover gasket. Apparently, when the valve cover leaks oil, it is deposited in the coil plug well and starts shorting the coil plugs because of the contaminated oil. Note: when changing coil plugs, always replace them ALL as a set.

its a 3.9 engine and the cure is to replace with valve cover gaskets and new spark plug grommets new part numbers apparently fix the problem to prevent from reoccuring.
