The usual are plugs, plug wires, and PVC foam on the air mass sensor that needs to be cleaned.
Could also be other sensors like throttle position, temperature, O2, etc.

Pound ticking noise when my 99 durango starts goes away after the engine warms up

The ticking noise could be a faulty hydrulic valve lifter. When last was the oil & filter changed, it coul be that the oil is thick and not going through to the lifters and when it warms up the oil is thin. It could be that the engine is need of an overhaul as 148.000 miles is 238.182 Kilometers and that is a hi milage.

My 2002 dodge durango would not start after a while we pumped it and it started

fuel filter, fuel injectors, dirty gas, put some gas treatment in tank.may need to be timed.

Took a minute to start car.it sounded sluggish and ran sluggish. could it be bad gas.or do i need a new fuel pump.it has 72,000 miles on it

Hello,
Could be the fuel pump. Could be the fuel filter too. When is the last time you had a tune up? Bad plugs can really work a car hard. When you are at a stop sign or a stop light and your foot is on the brake does the car act like it wants to **** on you? This is a another sign of your plugs needing to be changed. Should this be the case I would recommend a full tune up. Should your check engine light be on then I would suggest you go to Auto zone to get a free scan performed and have the codes read. If no check engine light is on then it is most likely not a sensor issue.

Regards, Tony

One and only solution you will need to do a OBD2 Scan to retrieve the vehicle computer errors your guess is good as mine what it could be this scan will pin point the exact problem. If you haven't the scan diagnostics tool most garages charge $25-$75.00 for this service

Durango starts sometimes. then acts like its getting no gas and dies. if i stomp on gas it will keep running till i let off. bad gas ? fuel filter ? fuel pump?

I would suggest starting with the less expensive solutions first. If you pull the air intake hose off the throttle body and open the throttle with the engine off look down inside if it is black try spraying it out with throttle body cleaner make sure to spray it out good. Afterwards start it you may have to keep your foot on the gas for a few minutes to make sure it doesn't stall then take your foot off the gas pedal and see if it stays running if it does your throttle body just needed cleaned. Note do not use carb cleaner use throttle body cleaner only, carb cleaner can damage the sensor in your throttle body.

After starting my 1999 Dodge Durango, when I take my foot off the gas, the vehicle shuts off. As long as my foot stays on the gas pedal, it stays running.

I had the same problem it was the idle air control valve, I purchased another but problem remained, so clean old one with carb cleaner and steel wool put back on and worked great again.

The 5.9L engine runs but will not Idle.

could be the idle air control valve, vacuum leak or a bad throttle position sensor.

4urango will not stay running

Check your IAC (Idle Air Control Valve). Also inspect your EGR valve. Check your fuel pressure should be in the range of 25-35PSI. Make sure your fuel filter is not clogged. Check spark plugs and wires
