Heater is not working AC is fine Air is coming quite nicely, Heater is not working check with mechanic he says circulation of water is fine may be some electric issues, please advise

You have what is called a blend door that is inside of the air box that switches air flow between the heater core and the evaporator core. It sounds like either the actuator motor or the blend door itself might be either stuck or bad. Depending on what you are working on, this could either be a hard job, or a very hard job to repair.

Need to find location of blend door for heater on dodge caravan 2007

Usually it is a shaft that attaches to the blend door and the actuator. Sounds like the door is broke and the HVAC unit must come out to replace the door as the unit has to come apart.

Need to know the codes for ac system in 98 lincoln

Hi there:
Error Code 24 - AC/Heater Air Temperature Control Blend Door failure
If it comes up 24 or 25 it is the blend door actuaton, or the shaft on the door is stuck (rust). Basically, there's a small geared electic motor that controls the blend door position of the hot/cold blend of air; keep in mind that this device is called an actuator and it breaks.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Hi there everyone PLEASE HELP , I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2003. I seem to have a issue with the Heater - everyone whom I have spoken to so far has said its the Blend doors but Im not sure . The issue...

There are two doors , One controls the position of air flow and the other controls temp by allowing the air to pass through the heater core or through the evap core. You will need to remove dash and separate two halves of a/c box to repair blend air door. The way to diagnose the problem is with a scan tool and through the body computer.Swapping parts will get expensive , would probaly be wise to spend the money for a good scan ( not just a code pull).

Have a 1998 dodge caravan blows cold only new thermastst flushed system new anti freeze help

Most likely the problem is a broken blend door inside the heater box or a broken adjuster cable going to the blend door, the blend door inside the heater box is responsible for heater output depending on your temp adjustment on your heater control panel, most likely the blend door is stuck in the cold position allowing cold air to come through the vents verses allowing the blower motor to blow warm air past the hot heater core to produce heat, check the temperature adjuster cable behind your heater controls and make sure its connected and not broken, lastly make sure the blend door isnt broken and operating freely.

What causes a heater to blow cold air?

check your temperature control cables to make sure that when you change the setting to hot they are moving the blend door under the dash and also the valve in the engine compartment shown below. Sometimes the clamp on the blend door that holds the cable sheath comes loose such that the whole cable moves instead of just the wire coming out to close the door or valve. If the cables are working, the problem may be that you have air in the cooling system. Make sure the radiator is full and that any bleed ports release only coolant when cracked open. Finally, if all of these are good, your heater core may be clogged and needs to be backflushed or replaced. If your coolant is clean and well maintained, this is unlikely. Ac blows out the defrost side 1999 grand cherokee I-6 engine

these were common for the blend air door breaking around the pivot side. They would break clean off and not allow the switch of cold air to hot air etc. This can easily be dtermined by having a technician scan the HVAC module and a code will be "blend door range too large" then you know for sure either the actuator motor, or the blend door is broken. Either way, its 10 hours labor, minimum, at a shop. Simply because the entire instrument panel (dash) has to be removed from the vehicle and lay across the front seat. Then you can find access to the heater box and remove it. Only then can you replace the necessary doors, and actuators. Its very labor intesive. Good luck with the repairs.

The air from the vents is either hot or cold not much in between. This is on a 1998 Explorer. When on automatic the hot air comes on at about 72 degrees and will not cut off. Then when you turn it down it...

sounds like a blend door concern

the blend door is controlled by the EATC

inside the blend door is a potentiometer
I've seen this fail often

however, you will need to follow a few specific tests to correctly diagnose

good shotgun guess is the blend door actuator but I don't like to throw parts at it unless I know for sure!
