I don't believe that you would need more transmission fluid if you have a squeel (but for future reference clutch fluid is located with the brake fluid and uses brake fluid DOT 3). Squeeling is usually a tall tell sign that your clutch or pressure plate is going out. Also for future reference the actual transmission fluid will be on the side of the transmission and should say oil, if not it is usually 3 to 5 inches from the lowest point on the transmission and may take a certain weight (80-90W, 75-90W, etc.

I have a leak in a cooler line in transmission, put fresh transmission fluid in but problems with something slipping and stall coming from stopped position and going up an incline.

If the transmission is full of fluid, I would think you either have a fluid pressure problem or your clutches are worn out and the trans is slipping. Either way, if it is full of fluid it will need to be removed and either rebuilt or replaced.

Clutch squeals when pushed down

Your throwout bearing is likely failing. Your transmission will need to be removed to fix the problem.

The clutch was having a hard time going into gear. All of a sudden there was a high pitched squeal/scream coming from the transmission area.

that sounds like a throw out bearing failure-is there any adjustment at the slave cylinder-it may be holding the bearing against the clutch and causing the noise-this thread may help-http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/how-change-bleed-clutch-slave-cylinder-511531/- cheers Denny

1996 nissan maxima clutch squeals pedal stuck to floor

Sound like you're going to need a whole new clutch assembly, but if the fluid level was dry you may have sucked air into the system which means that the clutch will have to be bled at the slave cylinder, just like you would brakes. The squealing sound is coming from the throw out bearing, usually when the do that it means that the bearing is frozen and cannot spin. Either way it looks like you'll be dropping the transmission to work on the clutch.

The transmission on my 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue had worked perfectly and then I had noted that the transmission only worked in 1st, 2nd, and reverse gears. When I try to put the transmission into drive,...

The transmission fluid, filter, shift solenoid needs to be inspected. That might be causing this problem of transmission not going in drive mode with gas pedal pressed down.------- The transmission needs to be taken apart and inspected, may be solenoid not opening/ closing properly or gears dried up and fluid is required. first inspect the transmission fluid and filter.if fluid is low, get the fluid changed and if filter is dirty, get it replaced.but if problem is same, then transmission needs to be torn out and inspected internally for worn out solenoids and clutch plates and valves.--------- this will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

OK..............There is no transmission fluid just clutch fluid. Its in a small reservoir on the firewall. I think you have a worn clutch or it needs the lines adjusted. If the clutch doesn't engage until the pedal it almost at the top then you need to adjust it or replace it. The cleaner you put in is irrelevant to your problem. There is gear oil in the transmission though but that's not the problem either. The clutch cable is easy to adjust, just loosen the lock nut and spin the cable adjuster until the pedal feels right. Hope this helps :)

What fluids do we put underneath the truck clutch fluid? Or is there something else we need to know? This is after replacing the whole clutch. When the new cluth was put in fluid came out is that clutch...

The fluid used in the hydraulic clutch line is brake fluid.
The fluid used in the transmission can be either 10w30 oil......80w90 oil or automatic trans oil ....it depends on what transmission you have and what year you have.

Some transmissions are filled through the shifter opening.
Do not overfill it.....it will leak out on your new clutch.

Manual transmission

The clutch operates dry. Your assumption that it would slip with oil in there is a good one.
