I have a 2004 Chevy Avalanche. The problem is the AC is blowing hot air on passenger side and the drivers side has about 60 degrees coming out. We have had minor problems with this vehicle, like sensor changing. It has approx. 66000 miles. This problem started after replacing original battery this past week. Any ideas? Ive read about problems with actuators. Thanks for any help

I had a similar problem and thought to solve it my adding freon. When I made the connections I was surprised to find that the pressure was already higher than it should be.

Changed plan at that point and vented freon back into safe range. The A/C immediately began blowing cold again on both sides. Found out later that if the A/C had been serviced / filled on a cold day, that on a hot day in Texas it would be too high and cause the issues you noted.

If the truck has dual control then the problem is the blend door/temperature actuator on the passenger side.

2004 Chevy Tahoe: I changed A/C blend door actuator on passenger side and it's still blowing heat on my driver side?

Does the vehicle have dual zone climate control, where the driver side and passenger side have different control? Sounds like a blend door issue on the driver side. Why did you replace the passenger side, was it blowing hot too when AC was on?

2004 chevy avalanche with dual control system problem

this problem is caused in almost all cases by a failed actuator that moves the door insiode the heating/ac duct to change the outlet temperature, it is called the Air Temperature Control Blend Door actuator.

2004 Chevy Silverado AC is blowing warm air on passenger side.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator
